  1. Well, the lack of SIM would fuck you up, of course. I have never heard of a problem swapping them around until now. If you don't need the extended LTE coverage, the prepaid would probably save you a lot. We're at $85 with two devices and 15GB per device. Obviously she only needs basic service which is like $20.
  2. Prepaid saves a lot, do you need postpaid extras (larger roaming area)? And are you sure you can't just slap the SIM into any phone? I change phones willy-nilly and Verizon doesn't need to know, just move the SIM.
  3. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Prepaid-Verizon-E-Talk-Flip-Phone-4G-LTE-2-8-OVGM-dislpay-2-MP-camera-1500-mAh/283646400089?_trkparms=aid%3D555021%26algo%3DPL.SIMRVI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20190711100440%26meid%3D07192579854c4c2ba84930e060cb46fe%26pid%3D100752%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D383250943303%26itm%3D283646400089%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982 Happened to be talking to a Verizon person today, confirmed that E Talk thing does VoLTE.
  4. Mandatory $999 dealer doc and prep fee. $1k financing kickback. $3k extended warranty. Nobody lets vehicles sit on the lot. And for some reason, the people who get and upload pics are never the same ones that do the rest of the listing. So anything new here goes up with a stock photo "and real pics coming soon."
  5. The reason they are saying that is that the CDMA network is being shut down. You need a VoLTE phone. Anyone using older phones will find themselves having more and more call problems, then it just won't work. I can't help you on specific devices, I just don't know.
  6. You need to make sure it specifically supports VoLTE. That's the part that Verizon is going to change soon. Some phones, like the iPhone 5s, do LTE data but not voice over LTE.
  7. It's interesting what each of us become aware of, and others don't. I don't see any ads, these services are just talked about in car/Jeep places online. But there are posts about people in politics who I've never seen and have no clue who they are.
  8. You didn't get an instant quote? I ran mine through there and they immediately told me how much. (Like $31k I think, but doesn't account for all the add-ons at all.)
  9. Doing my own PDI and plastic/paper removal was a real treat. You might have noticed I'm less anal about what happens to the Jeep after that though... But yes, they are.
  10. Sure, but two quotes is always better. You can at least show it to the KBB people if they try to scam you. Holy shit, I had no idea how close you are to Kiryas Joel. Have you been through there?? Would you get a token pass? The BMW dealer that's exactly 30.2 miles from you is still in NY, a one-party consent law. If you go there, you can record this without telling anyone.
  11. Dave, is single-party recording allowed in your area? If so, recording it on the Apple Watch could be fun. I record a lot of stuff on the Watch, like all my RV fiascos.
  12. I tried to run the VIN on vroom.com and it won't finalize the quote. You should try it. Maybe my ad blockers or something like that are interfering with it. Dunno.
  13. All such sites expect you to have lied about condition, and to be able to nit-pick it down 10%. You will bring something in that they've never seen before, ever. Showroom quality, perfectly clean. I have no idea if they are even trained to deal with that, LOL.
  14. You can get a lot of online quotes without them seeing it. Carmax and KBB are options. Right now, Vroom.com is in startup mode and is said to be overpaying for cars by 10%. It's worth 90 seconds to find out. I would have run it myself if I knew your VIN.
  15. Jesus. I just recommended the MSF class to someone who wants to ride. I listed the things he'd learn, and when I got to shifting... "Oh, bikes don't have automatic transmissions?" I did tell him an NC700 might be his thing.
  16. I might be more inclined to tell them about the chain and sprocket, and all the time, as well as potential future problems, and ask how they suggest they make up for it. Or possibly suggest that they just send me extra parts (more chains and sprockets) which costs them much less than cash. And in most companies, and employee can just send you parts on their own accord (or at least, I've had that happen a few times).
  17. PM an address, I don't think I have your info saved. We also have Blazing Saddles on Bluray (the whole Mel Brooks library actually). I guess I should rip that, we gave away the BR player years ago.
  18. Seasons? LOL, it only hit six episodes, a total of 150 minutes. I guess there are only so many times you can say, "Cigarette?" "Why yes, it is." I can't believe I typed that wrong, it's from the early 80s. Wishful thinking I guess, that I wasn't so old. Maybe I should randomly send it to one of my younger friends who will have no idea it exists. But they won't have a DVD player either. EDIT: Moriah loved it, and had no idea about it. She also only recently saw Airplane, which is what prompted us to get this. She's now a fan of this kind of comedy, which unfortunately is a dead art.
  19. Free to a good home. This is the first thing we've been unable to find to download in ten years. Didn't have any way to play a DVD on the TV, since, well, it's 2019, so I ripped it and watched it from the media server. It was still as hilarious as it was in the 90s.
  20. I have some great NWS posts to put up, lulling you into complacency, and then...
  21. LOL. I don't actually know what an ignored post looks like. Does it show a place marker and just hide the content? That would be deliciously trolling behavior. I assumed it just compresses each person's view so that the same number of posts show up. The rest of us see five pages of posts, Tomek sees 1-2.
  22. One of the symptoms of narcissism is having to let people know that you're purposely not responding to how they have triggered you, instead of actually just ignoring them.
  23. Actually, it's the best possible compliment. It confirms that the person is so important, meaningful, and unignorable that you must turn to electronic tools to keep yourself from reacting to said narcissist. A true win. I sold and delivered a car, then got a call hours later complaining that they can't drive it because it's a manual. I delivered it because it was in storage, so it was easier to get it out, wash it, and drive it there than back home. I replied with a link to a driving school.
