Just did a minor tune up: Oil/filter air filter and my buddy said the carbs may benefit from some cleaning.

Is there something to spray, add to fuel or to I take the stacks down / off and soak them in a solution like he suggested?

Amsoil has a gas additive I have used for years in both bikes and fuel injected cars---with very good results. It's not harsh---so takes some time---but worth it. Most likely you will find that treatment adequate---but regular sychronizing is the main ticket---IMHO-----happy trails kel

I vote for a decent fuel additive (Redline is my preference, but any top brand should be fine), used every couple months. Don't bother spraying unless you have a specific problem.

And if your bike is FI, DO NOT spray or attempt to clean the throttle bodies in any way! They are coated with molybdenum which is damaged/removed by cleaning sprays, and easily scratched off. It keeps any significant amount of dirt from sticking. Another Honda design benefit.

I'll add a quality fuel cleaner to the tank and post the results later. Thanks for the info!

Assuming several tank fulls (3-4) per treatment bottle.

I add BG 44K to my gas, best stuff on the market in opinion. I have used almost every product on the market at one time or another and have friends in all aspects of the auto industry, over the years everybody that has used the BG44K now swears by it. It's around $20 for a half pint (almost possitive), and that treats 20 gallons of gas. If you are worried about a full clean, I would put a quarter of the can in your bike and save the rest for latter. I put 1 once in every 4-5 tankfulls as maintenance.

Just my spit.

BG44K and Techron are the best. Everything else is just snake oil. (maybe Redline OK also-the other Walmart stuff is just solvent)

I also like 44K, been using it for about 4 yrs.

This stuff makes STP and all the others seem like water in a bottle.

We use to use it at the shop I worked at. They bought it by the case, so i borrowed a bottle whenever I needed one
