  1. Ordered the factory license plate/light assembly for my recovered '99 XX, but never used it. Still in as new & unused cond. $45 + shipping.
  2. I found two brand new Honda spin on oil filters for the XX. Part # 15410-MFJ-D01. $15 for both plus shipping.
  3. If anyone is looking for these, I have a very nice used set for $50 + shipping. Let me know.......
  4. When putting my custom XX back together recently, I noticed the right side mirror glass had 2 very small scratches in it. Ordered a brand new one for almost $110!!!!! Damn expensive even with a discount outfit selling it to me. Anyway, $25 + actual shipping cost for my perfectly useable, not quite perfect one.
  5. Replaced the fuel float assem in my '99 tank with one that will work with my 2003 XX. Like new condition! $25 + actual shipping cost. No "handling" fee. my "e" mail is....slsautorest@hotmail.com , or send me a private message through this site. Purple Plazma
  6. Word of caution here interested buyers.......DON'T ASK YOUR WIFE FOR PERMISSION!!!!!!!! The first response here was shot down quicker than an XX in the 1/4 mile! :icon_snooty:
  7. Bought this from a member here a few years ago. That was when I still had the 919 and I knew the XX was a more comfortable place for my wife. Now, I have the Bandit so she'll be riding on the back of that one. Plus, I already have a Corbin "Smuggler" and a Sargent covered stock seat for 2 up duty. Anyway....... it's in excellent shape with NO rips, scuffs, tears, or damage of any kind. No backrest. First $300 + actual shipping cost takes it.
  8. Pending? So it's not for sale or it is? Deb & I are going to the Honda Hoot in June and I'll need one of those seats soon. Please advise a.s.a.p.
  9. Eric, I just ried to call and the message stated your mail box is full. So........ I'll take the seat if it's still for sale. Just figure out what shipping would be by U.S.P.S. ( probably cheaoer than U.P.S.) for zip 19053. I've got the cash right now and will send a bank money order for it when the total amount is known to me. I'm at... slsautorest@hotmail.com. thanks in advance, Steve Smith ( a.k.a. Purple Plazma)
  10. Try the back pages of most American based cycle mags, like Cycle World & Motorcyclist. There's plenty of Honda dealers that will give you a great price on genuine Honda parts shipped to your door. Call 'em all up and write down the different prices.
  11. Got rid of the original "Purple Passion" turbo Kaw last year. I just finished "playing" around with my new '03 XX and took a few digital pics today. I'll see that they get sent to the proper authority for posting. Here's a hint, it looks sweeeeeeeeeeeet!
  12. I had an alum. rear sprocket on my 184 rear wheel h.p. Kaw turbo, it held up just fine. So the gearing change will change my speedo reeding? I read there's a "gizmo" available that will recalibrate your factory speedo to an ACTUAL , true reading. I forget what they are called. Anyone have one installed on their bike?
  13. I went with a polished alum. rear sprocket this time around. It's got 2 more teeth.I expect it'll give me an distinct edge in roll-ons and in the 1/4 mile. Not all that worried about losing 5-7 m.p.h. on top. I expect approx 400-500 r.p.ms higher per gear . Does this sound about right? Anyone else go up two teeth at the rear sprocket? If so, were you pleased with the difference?
  14. I use good 'ol human spit! No hockers though [-X
  15. I would strap my front end down on my turbo Kaw & '03 ZRX1200 for the track.I didn't make it a TOTAL rigid front end though.I found that at least an inch or so of fork travel made it a lot more rideable and still low enough to help prevent wheelies.Make sure ya post the results.Good luck.
  16. Where in the garden state ya from? If no delivery yet, still time to only pay $8K for a leftover '03.
  17. Please provide an abridged version of why the XXs benefit from these. My '99 only has 3K on it now.I haven't noticed any engine noise related to the cam chain.I'm assuming the X-11 unit is an up-dated version of the stock XX unit, correct? Have there been any Honda recalls for the c.c.t.?
  18. That's about what I expected.Removing my almost brand new tires (without damaging the beads),and buying new wheel bearings, along with the wait, hmmmmmmm, maybe.
  19. Just curious......what did they charge to chrome the wheels?Did you do any prep work on them first? They look "tits"!
  20. Oh yeah, forgot about I plan to polish the visible areas of the frame and install the cusom, polished frame plugs. That enough?
  21. I too just got back all the pieces I took to be chromed.First off,the wavy-ness that your seeing in the rear footpeg brackets, was there already. The highly reflective nature of chrome simply makes any flaws of that nature stand out that much more.Kinda like when ya paint a car black when it used to be a lighter color, you'll notice all the body imperfections ALOT more than say,a white one.I smoothed and polished ALL of the parts I sent to be chromed( rear footpeg brackets & pegs, both pieces of the clutch cover, the stator cover, side stand & spring, all engine cover bolts, center clutch cover bolt, shifter lever and front peg lean angle spacers).I left the front footpeg brackets & pegs in a highly polished state.I figured the triangle shaped areas of the front peg brackets are prone to getting scratched with normal riding(heel of boots, shoes),and might as well have the ability to repolish them when needed. This is also why I didn't chrome the front pegs, plus I wanted them to have the same "color" and shine as the brackets they are atteched to.Chrome sprockets are only good for strictly show bikes. With regular use,the chrome will wear down and eventually peal away from the sprocket.Mine is polished. One more little "trick" I did was to remove the small "o" shaped tabs attached to the front brackets where the stock exhaust used to bolt up to.I've seen many XXs with 4 into 1 pipes where the stock mounting points are still there. All together the items I listed came to a semi-rediculous approx $450.I also removed the "cooling fins" that were part of the clutch cover for a smoother look. The stock swingarm has also been considerably smoothed down and highly polished(by me in my shop). Can't afford to chrome the wheels this year.I will polish the outer portions and paint the spokes.Custom dark purple metallic, body parts, custom graffics, chrome shield, clear turn signals, clear l.e.d. tail light, custom polished alum. rear turn signals with clear lens,Sargent's seat cover with purple piping, purple gel grips, throttle lock, nickel plated new style Heli-bars,polished stainless bar ends(one doubles as a helmet lock),purple "X" ring chain, carbon fibre/polished alum. reservoir covers, full Muzzy stainless/alum header(polished of course) and modified& painted center stand.Whew! And that's just for THIS season! Stay tuned.........Smitty
  22. One of the MAIN reasons I decided to buy the XX over the ZX11 was the fact that the Kaw had more than one of them gernade themselves.Specifically the #3 rod.Heard this more than once.Had never heard any similar problems concerning the XX (till now).As do all the members(I'm sure),I am anxious to see how this whole problem is resolved.Just my 2 cents worth......if this were my problem, and out of pocket $ was a major issue,I'd consider finding an entire pre owned, low mileage engine. It would be a good bit of work to do all the R&R,but cheaper than rebuilding your original one or option 2,buying a replacement bike.Good luck! ......Smitty
  23. First thing I would have checked would be the cam chain tentioner.Good luck, and keep us posted. It's an '03 with HOW MANY MILES ALREADY???!!!!
