02 SilverBird
Just for the hell of it I was looking for spec's on 1100XX (I have a 2002) On several place's, including Wikipeda, it said that 1999-2000 were good for 164 BHP and for 2002 they changed the map for smoother throttle responce but the HP droped to 152. Can anyone confirm this,if so can an ECM from a 2000 be used on a 2002 and pick up an extra 12 HP. Is it possible to remap the 2002 ECM. While I am here any one know how to tell a CA spec Bike from the reg US spec, is there a differance in the VIN or extra emmisions added? JoWhee
The ecu was changed in '01, The power commander is different also. IIRC the '00 uses different sensors (barometric vs. O2 sensor according to the service manual). But I have heard that only the California models used the O2 sensor. I'd offer to let you try my ECU ( I have a spare for my '00) but I'm a little far away.

Happy Holidays To You AllI know that there was a CA model with a catalytic converter on it -- that combined with the O2 sensor could explain the power drop. I would imagine they could have retarded timing to accommodate the lower octane fuels while they were optimizing emissions to the lowest common denominator. I have never heard of an '02 model having lower HP, however, have you run yours on a dyno to see what it puts out?

He was kind of like Brad, only much more cocky, and not as bright. But he seemed taller.
