Echo
Does fuel flow fron the tank to the engine via the big fat hose with the crimped metal thingys on the ends or through the smaller hose with the simple hose clamps. The big one is on the left side of the engine and the smaller one is on the right.
Redbird
Big one with the banjo bolts is the supply line, smaller hose with clamps is the return line. Both of them will be full of fuel.
IcePrick
FI or carbed?
Redbird
Good question. I went with FI because he seems to be describing the supply line on one side of the fuel rail and the return line on the other, but that was an assumption. Not sure I've even seen under the tank on a carbie.
Echo
Fi. And thanks for the quick response. Was gonna install a line filter but guess it wouldn't do much good on a return line. I got to looking at my fuel lines this morning and opted to replace em all. Done now except for that big one on the left. Can an auto parts store get me one or will I need to order one through a mechanic?
John01XX
Order the OEM line through your Honda Dealer www.hdlparts.com #17 - HOSE, FUEL FEED Part# 17527-MAT-D50 list=$78.29 Honda Directline price= $59.
Redbird
Auto parts store, no. A performance shop might be able to whip something up for you, though. Like so- For reference- http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=62472
tomek
1.There is a fuel filter inside of the tank,at least on FI model. 2.Summit Racing has all the needed parts if you opt to go with pimped out line. Having said that it is possible to remove the hose from the OEM line and reuse fittings and bolts. You just need piece of high pressure FI hose of proper I.D. and couple clamps.Total cost about 8-10 bucks. John01XX
If you have your stock line off the Bird, just stop in to your local Hydraulic Supply house. They will make up an exact duplicate hose for very few dollars and do it on the spot.
tomek
You need a -6AN hose and banjo hose end like this http://www.summitracing.com/search/?keywor...|Asc&page=7 You need to figure out, measure, etc size of the stock banjo bolts and go from there,it is possible to reuse them.
