Whoa. Thats some serious hardware. Very cool. This would make someone a very nice piece since they might be impossible to buy before long.

Damn that would be nice. I couldn't justify it though. I don't even know where I could shoot that. Somebody's going to end up with a sweet toy...

Must admit I have been exceptionally tempted. :icon_redface:

May have to settle for making a new coffee table out of beers cans sandwiched between two sheets of glass. However, that would make one for one hell of a conversation piece!

Even though I was a radar tech (FTM/FC) in the Navy I had a good buddy who was a Gunner's Mate and I got to shoot the 50 cal that is mounted to the ship at the "Killer Tomato" - a big red inflatable that they used for target practice - man was that cool! If I did not think I'd get arrested I'd love have one like yours mounted to my upstairs deck, even if I never used it!

Question...

In the prone position, how far is the shooter scooted back from the recoil? What does it feel like against the shoulder when you shoot it?

Scooted back? Scoot back=worse recoil+less accuracy. Well, the owner'll tell you, I'm sure.

Ahhh. Duh, I get it. I was thinking set back from the gun. That would be a dislocated shoulder waiting to happen, I was a little worried. LOL

Can't afford the gun, how much for the tire in the background?

I couldn't afford the ammo at about $5.00 per bang but if I had Dave's money, I would be all over it, fun, fun, fun.

You can reload 50 BMG for about a buck and change/round using pulled bullets and around $3 and change for reloads using premium match bullets.

You generally do not sit and blast 10 boxes of rounds at a sitting, (all things being relative).

My 500 Linebaugh pistol/rifles and some of my other large bore rifles will run $2-4/round with factory ammo. Handloads with premium components will run 50-75% of the cost of factory rounds.

Would you believe it has less recoil than my .308

BM claims it's equivalent to a .243 and I have to agree.

Well, deer season is coming.......

It's supposed to be something left of the animal when hunting :icon_twisted:

I know a guy that get nusance permits and uses homemade bullets. 7mm mag cases turned, cut and filled with #9 shot. Everything behind the entry hole is gone, EVERYTHING!
