lensmanxx Posted October 12, 2008 Share Posted October 12, 2008 The tail light on my SV wasn't bright enough, so I added some led strips from Custom Dynamics: This pic gives a better idea of the real intensity of these in relation to the brake light. The 12 led strip above the brake light is really bright. I checked DOT regs- federal is OK, PA doesn't specifically mention motorcycles, it does for cars/trucks/buses. There are several wiring diagrams since the SV has different models- K3,K4 which vary in wiring. It's best to have both owners manual ( back page has model info) and the shop manual. dehning Posted October 13, 2008 Share Posted October 13, 2008 I bought the "Clear Alternatives" brake lens for my 2002, opened it up and removed the red filter and then installed 2 of these 5 Watt Luxeon based bulbs from superbrightleds.com: http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/1156-xLX5.htm It looks really sharp now, very fast, bright light.
