Gorgeous '03 FL 'Bird - SOLD!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I was out for what may be my final ride, on Sunday. As much as I love admiring my Blackbird, it's really wasted on this senior citizen. Time for me to find it the home it deserves. The Blackbird has always been my Dream Bike and this one's condition, with less than 8,500 miles, can only be termed "Pristine," from its Cadillac Pearl Paint to it's brand new Ti-Force exhaust system.

Since 4K miles it has enjoyed the most expensive, fully synthetic motor oil on the planet... Motorex Formula 4T, 15W-50 (Manufactured in Switzerland). It was just changed at 8,100 miles (always with a new filter and drain-plug washer).

Following is a list of accessories... I doubt you will find a better equipped Blackbird... anywhere. I had a vision of the ultimate, perfectly-equipped, Sport Touring machine and I would rather sacrifice it in its perfection than remove the gear and try for top dollar.

COST / DESCRIPTION

$1,000.00 Ti-Force Titanium Exhaust System (Plus - Stock headers w/ Twin Jardines)

$690.00 Corbin Smuggler Seat (Plus - Stock Seat in "New" condition)

$360.00 2002 Cadillac Diamond Pearl Paint (Just the cost of the Paint!) - Draws a crowd at Bike Night!

$349.00 Blinder M-20 Laser Jammer (That's right, Invisible to Police Lasers!)

$280.00 Chatterbox GMRS X-1 Radio (5-Mile range... much better than the FMRS)

$250.00 Escort 8500, X-50 Radar Detector (Hard Mounted to Puig Screen)

$150.00 Custom CBR-XX Graphics (Installed with the Diamond Pearl Paint job)

$140.00 Acumen Gear Indicator (The expensive, plug 'n play w/ blue face & auto-dimming)

$135.00 Throttle Meister Throttle Friction (Installed before the Cruise Control)

$130.00 Carbon-Look Rear Hugger

$125.00 2005 VFR Clip-Ons w/Foam Grips (Plus - Stock Clip-ons)

$116.00 R & G Frame Sliders (Imported from the UK)

$110.00 Audiovox Electronic Cruise Control (Yes... electronic Cruise Control!)

$95.00 Front Fork Stand (For polishing the front wheel)

$92.00 Kasan Headlight Modulator (A MUST for safe riding!)

$90.00 Radar Screamer (Heard at any speed!)

$75.00 Puig D/B Windsrceen (Plus - Stock Windshield)

$60.00 CBR1100XX Service Manual (In Custom Binder)

$35.00 Fender Extender (No dirt in the radiator!)

$30.00 Custom Muffler Bracket (Plus - Stock Passenger Pegs)

$30.00 Tire Repair Kit (Stowed in the Corbin's "trunk")

$20.00 Dual 12V Accessory Outlets

$5.00 Custom Chatterbox Radio Mount

$4,367.00 TOTAL ACCESSORIES (Plus $275.00 for the Michelin Tires)

I will take no less than $7,500.00 and, because of all the peripheral equipment, it must be picked up in St. Petersburg, FL. Cash or Cashier's Check is preferable but I'll accept PaylPal if the buyer pays the fee (around 3%).

So... If you want or know someone who wants the Ultimate Blackbird... astonishingly equipped... here it is and... the photos do not do justice to the Diamond Pearl paint. It must be seen in the sun, in person, to be appreciated!

so without the accesories its what 3 and change?

nice bike bye the way

Glad I didn't have to be the dick. It is a super sweet bike, no doubt.

I had $3,500 into my 2001 with 11K on the clock and it was showroom new. I pulled $5,000 I think.

Best of luck, really...I hope you get it.

$110.00 Audiovox Electronic Cruise Control (Yes... electronic Cruise Control!)

Did you just have this sitting around? I want this unit but haven't been able to find it for some time.

Go to Amazon.com. Use their search engine:

Category: Automotive

Item: Audiovox Cruise Control

And... you'll see them listed (currently) for $88.00. When I bought mine it cost me $110.00.

If you haven't seen the directions for installation on a Blackbird, PM me and I will find the site for you.

It works like a charm!!

I actually have a VFR, not a XX :icon_redface:

But thanks for the info on where to buy.

I can't be more than 15-20 minutes away from where this XX. I'm in St Petersburg also.

If anyone would like me to go take a look and perhaps send more photos, let me know.

I can also store it in my garage if an out of area member can't pick it up right away. It'll keep my XX company.

Can't promise that I won't sit on it naked though :icon_whistle::icon_whistle:

Aprilia Rick is suppose to be stopping by to check it out tomorrow evening after work for a forum member.

So... Rich... How come we haven't run into each other? Blackbirds are as rare as hen's teeth around here! Of all the QuakerSteak Bike nights I've been to, I've only seen three Blackbirds and never two there at the same time, never within six months of each other and... only met one other XX owner... there with his wife. Could that have been you? The bike had a C/F tank protector that was practically worn through.

John,

I haven't heard from Rick yet but... if he can, he really ought to see it in the sunlight. The paint is pretty under lights in the evening but... it's SPECTACULAR in sun light. :icon_cool:

Spoke with Rick last night and he should be calling you today to arrange to hook up with you for lunch. He works right down the street from you, actually on the same street.

I wanna know why you haven't been to any of the twice a year "FUXXT" ride events ?? There are typically over 15 Birds that participate from all over Florida.

It is normally a 250 mile day ride in the area north east of Tampa.

Relative to Rick, it's 11:45 and I have not heard from him.

Regarding the "FUXXT" rides, er... ah... although I have checked out the "XX Rider Meetings" forum a couple of times, I guess if Florida rides haven't shown up in "The Pub," I haven't known about them. :icon_redface: I would have welcomed the chance to show off the "Whitebird" to other XX owners! :icon_whistle:

That's a damn nice looking 'Bird, sorta like the Big Badd Cousin to the "Refrigerator" VFR...

I'm just a lurker, former Viffer pilot, recovering Honda of Central Florida Crash Test Dummy, part time Scorpion Helmet QA Tester, and a wannabe BB rider when I grow up...

Would sure like to keep that weapon here in the Sunshine state, though it's a bit rich for my tastes and though nice, I wouldn't need/want all the gadgets cluttering up the dashboard and some of the related doodads... :icon_lol:

I see you don't want to mess with "perfection" in your post, and I guess I don't blame ya, I'm not one to waste someone's time, but I wanted to post a comment in appreciation of your 'Bird. Nice job!

Dare I request that we lurkers start seeing more posts of 'Birds for sale (maybe even Titanium ones) that are closer to the Conch Town Zone? Getting tired of seeing continuous listings of 'Birds in TEXAS, ARIZONA, and CALI... not that there's anything wrong with them...

That is all, Thank you, now back to lurking once again... :icon_cool:

Thanks, Sondance! Here's my favorite pic of the Whitebird...

(Oh... and there's the tail section over there in my Avatar!) :icon_lol:

John,

It was a pleasure meeting you this morning. Thanks very much for the cigar and chat. It is always great to meet up with another rider.

The bike is a very sweet ride. Based on our chat, I hope you keep the girl and continue to ride instead of selling. I am not sure you will get the asking price, but she has lots of nice goodies mounted and it looks like you keep her in great shape and running order. I know you will miss it if she goes to another home, but I certainly understand your reasons.

The bike is very pretty in the light. The paint is nice. Very unique. John and I switched rides for a bit and she is everything I remember about the bird. A stark contrast to the burtal shifting and shaking on my twin (but I still loooove my twin.) The motor and tranny are silky smooth. She would be a nice addition to any garage and as Rich said above, I would be more than willing to store her for anyone that wants to buy her. She has all the bells and whistles and everything is mounted up nicely.

Take care and keep in touch. If ou end up keeping her, let me know and we will get out for a ride.

Cheers,

Rick

I originally wanted no less than $7,500.00 for my XX with all the goodies... However, I'm down to $6,500.00 until SATURDAY, the 29th... then it's going on eBay. Anyone looking for a Pristine, 2003 Blackbird is missing the boat!

Sorry for the trolling, but with the exception of the exhaust and clip ons your prices are too high. 50% is the norm for excellent condition accessories. I've been where you are, and the only thing you can do is take it in the ass, learn from your mistakes and move on.
