For Sale: 2000 CBR1100XX

Recommended Posts

Sorry Guys, but I've decided to retract the sale of the 'bird. After serious soul-

searching, I felt it best to keep the bird and look around for a used, inexpensive

touring bike (ST1100 or Connie) that the wife would be happy riding. As Texhoss

already advised, I'd be making a move backwards by selling the bird and then

replacing it with a VFR (as good as they are). I've also noticed that those who've

sold their birds have ALWAYS regretted it later. So - sorry for any inconvenience.

Oooooooooooooh, Man-O-Man I like that color... Would you consider a 2001 FZ1 and a bottle of Jack?

Honestly, if I had the cash..

Sorry to see it go Doug.

James

Edit: You know Doug,..... :icon_shifty: the upright seating position of the FZ is very comfy for longer rides(like touring type stuff) and, the bike provides generous space for the passenger,as well Doug, the Corbin Lady gunfighter seat with the backrest installed, makes for a very happy "wife" as mine will attest. Also, the Race -Tech springs in the front end help out quite abit in the twisty stuff..should one decide to take advantage of the perkyness of the FZ1. The installed frame sliders on mine, canalso be used as footrests when on the highway loops of a ride too!

Ok, that's it all done..oh, did I mention the addition of a few carbon fiber bits and the Double-Bubble screen? :icon_whistle:

Oh, Look, a photo of Crusty's FZ1

Tell me it is not true!! What new bike caught your eyes? You aren't PW, I was kidden!!

OK Carl, you're right. I'd be an idiot to sell this bike because I know

anything else I could affor would be a step backward. So, as I've

already said, I'm retracting the sale of the bike. Yeah, I'm a nut-case.

Very glad to hear you came to your senses Doug. The bird is an awesome bike, and has been proving it's self for 10 years now. :-)

Doug,

I just saw this. Glad you came to your senses.

Will your wife ride? Anita fell in love with Bill's SV.

Or you could look for a older wing.

Put a new PR2 on her and enjoy the fall riding.

Well... as a newcomer, I'm personally glad to hear that you're keeping your bird.

I've just picked up my first one, and won't be riding her until next Spring (or if winter never arrives).

She's a '97 primadona, and came with 16,000km on her... and I've just stored her away. I'll be letting

you all know how it goes. I also ride a CBR600 f2, and an old CB550-K... so my new edition should

prove much of what I've heard here in the forums.

Hope I hear from each of you from time to time. Glad to be here.

What? Did I miss a thread? What the fuck, Doug????

Just because you wore out a tire after 10,000 miles is NO REASON to sell your bike, my friend!

When the wife or SO says she wants to ride more and is not comfortable on the Bird, I want to jump at the chance to make her comfortable. Although I have never ridden on the back of the Bird it doesn't look.....all that inviting. Doug, you are wanting to share you riding passion with her.........that is so cool!!!

I think it is near impossible to have all your riding desires with one bike! You tell us when you are ready for that ST1100 or Connie we will find it for you. We are coming up on a great season and values to go Cycle Hunting North of the snow line!! I have a trailer and will travel! I want a ST1100 or a ST1300 also!

Yeh, this is news to me as well.

I have a wadded '02 I will trade you for your bike. I'd be doing you a favor because (1) you need a project and (2) silver is the fastest color.
