There is what appears to be a cut at about a 45 degree angle all the way across the tread. This "cut" looks like it's where the tread comes together. There are fibers/cords/filaments sticking through the "cut". The tire has about 3000 miles on it and is in good shape otherwise. I'll do some measurements tomorrow and contact Avon about the problem.
