Moriartii
I just finished the install of my Traxxion DIY kit. VERY NICE!!!!! I am curious about raising my forks. In the service manual is says to set the forks with 39 mm between the top bridge and the locking ring indent on the fork. Now if I raise my forks do I just change that measurement? In doing a search I see 10mm is the top end and the average is about 5-6mm. Yes I have already shimmed the rear. TIA Kinley
bartonmd
Yes, if you want to raise 6mm, the measurement will be 45mm... Mike
Moriartii
Very cool, thank you!!!! What is the best average for raising the forks? Kinley
bartonmd
you'll have to wait for more responses on that one... Mine are just tight on the heli-bars, so I don't know... I guess you could do a search too... it's been discussed... Mike
Dion
Very cool, thank you!!!! What is the best average for raising the forks? Kinley Make small moves and ride it until you're happy with the way it handles. Be aware that the more you go the quicker it will handle but you trade stability in the front end. exskibum
I raised my forks 3 mm (to 42 mm) with the install of the Traxxion front end kit, and it appears that the Penske in the rear is 3 mm longer than the OEM shock (measured from center of axle to a point vertically above axle on subframe with the bike on center stand). It'll never be as quick as an R1, but I like the combination of continued reasonable straight line stability (we have a fair amount of wind here) and twisties handling. blackhawkxx
How do you guys raise your forks? I can see how you can lower the front of the bike but....
