I was using the Mobil 1 Truck and SUV synth,, 5-40

Old Stuff

Buying the JUG 5 qt.. for like $25.00 from Walmart...

Then It fell off all the shelves.. couldn't find it .. Now I go to my auto parts store and find..

Mobil 1 DELVAC 5w-40

New Delvac stuff

Are they the same?

Back of the package says. diesel and gasoline engines..

The old truck and SUV stuff worked great... and sofar I have only ran around the block with the new delvac stuff in .. So if someone out there knows that my engine is gonna blow up from putting diesel oil in .. LET ME KNOW

Won't blow up I know that. But it may not be good for the clutch if it's got moly in it. Check the back sticker that has the weight and such on it. If it says Energy Conserving it probably has Moly. If there is no moly it's definatly fine.

I don't want to start a flame war but moly MIGHT not be good for the wet clutch.

Delvac is heavy duty diesel oil, stuff that you would put in semi.It has been on market for years, but Mobil1 version of that oil, 5w40 used to be hard to get, some track stops would carry that plus track service station.

On the label you will see that it passes some Mack,Cat or Cummins etc norms, etc

Anyway,it should work like a dream in your XX. It is direct competitor to shell rotella 5w40.

It is not the same as a 'old' 5w40 suv oil,it is better.

One does not put truck oil in a motorcycle.

One does pony up for the correct goddamn oil and stop being a cheap ass, lest ye trip over the pennies you saved and fall face first into a pile of shit.
