Shinko Tires

I saw about them over on STN and posted there $155 delivered for a set!

The Aussie guys seem to like them, and did I say cheap?

Won't get to try them till maybe next year though, I have a set of Stradas with another free front coming. Still also have the last rear Contiforce to mount.

I wondered about those tires. Had never heard about them til I saw them on Ebay and I thought they couldn't be that great if they were that cheap for the set ... but I hope they work out well, maybe bring the price of bike tires down a bit(a man can dream) since we have to replace them so frequently.

really?

certainly cheap though. The drag racers here certainly like em on the strip, however on the road you had better hope you don't get anywhere near some rain or a creek unloading over the road, or even a neighbour hosing his driveway! :icon_sick:

  • 2 weeks later...
local guy runs them on his busa and loves em...good wear but still stick. he also said is has a good edge for curves but flat for the straights too

These tires are as good as any i have used!! I use the 005 on the front and the 009 on the rear. Expect 7k miles out of this set and will stick fine for all but those who need to be on the track. I know first hand on a B12 Bandit and will use them on my Busa. With the $ being the deciding factor! But what's not to like? They Rock!! Here is where i found the best deal. http://store.azmusa.com/shink.html :icon_oldman:

I'm not at all worried about the 168 MPH.

Where can you "sustain" (over 1 hour) 168 in the US?

Since I keep 42 psi in my tires I'm sure I can do 180 for 5 minutes (hard enough to do) without them blowing up.

I might try them next year if the price doesn't go up around "name brand" tires.

The speed ratings are low on those tires though. "W" instead of the usual "Z"

Not that it's be much of a concern in daily driving but the upper range of "W" tires is 168mph.

:icon_cool:

I don't think there is a diff on the rating unless i'm missing somthng! :icon_nono: Click the link and see for yourself... http://store.azmusa.com/shink.html http://us.st11.yimg.com/store1.yimg.com/I/...s_1890_80641335 And unless you drive like this guy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-MtXymQkjs&search=motorcycle I don't think its a problem! Hey if you want a great product for a great price this is it..

Never tried the 009, I have however used the 003 which is what a lot a local dragracers use. It has a ton of

grip for straight line acceleration but a realatively flat profile that definitely slows handling quite a bit. I have

used a few and it is pretty much change the tire and while your at it go ahead and change the oil early.

That is true of most tires though if you twist the throttle a lot. :icon_biggrin:
