Graham
I've just picked up my new 2004 and i love everything except the front sprocket whizz noise is this normal? My older Zx10 did not make this noise. Chain adjustment is spot on, it sounds like it's riding high on the teeth, like when u put a new chain on old sprockets??? This bike has done 9,000 Km's any Ideas??? :?:
2equis
The stock front sprockets have rubber dampers on them and are very quiet. Aftermarket sprockets are too narrow for the final drive shaft, have no rubber dampers and tend to be very noisy. If the bike is brand new.....I dunno. If you are not the original owner I'd check the front sprocket.

Stock front is 17T, in case you were wondering.
Timido
I just changed my chain and sprokets and everyone said the aftermarket ones are noisy. I didnt notice any noise difference.
Amherst XX
I went to a 16t front and noticed alot of extra noises. Eventually went back to a 17t OEM and they cleared up so I'm pretty sure it was the problem.
