My first time seeing it. Damn that is a NICE thread. The animated pics really give a good idea of the differences. Too bad it didn't have the Heli's in there too, or it would be THE definitive handlebar thread.

Now I also have a pair of Heli-Bars in my house. The problem is that we can't get the exact same position back to make these pics....

If we want to do it right, we need to do them all over again......

Just removed Helibars for my Bird, installed Converibars!

They are expensive, you need to change brake/clutch lines but I'm up 2 1/2

inches over Helibars, back 1 inch and can come back another no problem.

If you need the most UP you can get this is it !

Plus if you want down, 3mins with an Allen wrench and your laying on the tank.

Change the crap Allen screws with stainless other wise beauifully made.

This sight has a great vid to give you the poop.

It looks terrible, but seams to work ok. Don't the risers touch the inside panelling of the fairing on the BB?

It is a lot cheaper than the Gilles VarioBar, but they are much more flexible. You can also change the tilting-angle of the bars. These come pre-adjusted....

Helvet

These are a very nicely machined piece of gear, on the bike they look fine.

To get max height you will have to shave the stock screen on the side tabs,I have a zero gravity tour flip and get alot of height without shaving

but will knock off 1/2 inch just because I might want to come up that last 3/8.

PS. Helvet

Yes the very tip of the fairing(about 1/4 inche) could need to be ground off to avoid the brake/clutch resevoirs from touching.

But thats at full rise and full lock! I could come up another 3/8 inch

and I would have to shave a little to get that.

Thanks for the info, but I guess I wasn't totally clear what I meant...

It looks like the vertical bar of the risers is beside the forklegs. There is not much clearance between the forklegs and the inner part (grey) of the fairing. Can this pass there, or is this position not possible?

I posted this a couple of weeks ago - works like a charm. Seating reach equals that of my previous FJ1200. Back problems solved:

Search the previous posts for:

VFR bars with pre-load adjustable risers, and Galfer lines
