Squareman357
anyone know how many kms you get out of rkxw chain on the bird +1 I'm getting really close to ordering my new one. Anyone have anything bad to say about RK chains? Should I not get one?
Pete in PA
My factory chain was a RK, it went 15K miles. My DID ZVM went 25K miles.
tgo63
there are to many thing to consider to easily answer your question. The same chain can last 15K miles for one rider and 30K for another. Style of riding, maintainance, are two major factor affecting the chain mileage. I replaced my oem at 15K, it developed kinked link so I decided to change it. Went with EK, no noticable strech after 3K miles
skybluebird
See my post "410,000 mile XX" in the Pub. The guy uses only RK chains, they last longer (based on 2,000,000 miles experience!!). He uses a Scottoiler, which seems to be set to dispense a liberal amount of oil, and gets 80,000 miles per chain. His riding is mostly motorway (Interstate), at a steady 80-85 mph. He's a courier, who rides >3000 miles every 5 days, so is mindful of running costs in his riding style. Still pretty impressive, yes? tgo63
I find it hard to believe he gets average 80K miles on RK chain especially in England with all rain and shitty weather. Even with scott oiler 80K miles is pushing the limit

XXFirefighter
Those scott oilers are the shit... stock chain lasted me 20k quite a few track days as well...
Grey_XX
My factory RK went really dead at 11k. DID 1 -> 18 K DID 2 -> 22 K The DID is 530ZVM IIRC. Hugo
