Okay, yet another tire question...

I just won (yes, won) a set of Pirelli Diablo Corsas (DOT-approved track tires). I previously ordered a new set of Michelin Pilot Sports which I bought on line. The Mich's should arrive this week. I was planning to fit the Pilot Sports on my '00 VFR, but now that I have the Diablo Corsas on the way, I'm thinking they'll go on the VFR, instead.

Are the Pilot Sports up to the weight and higher speeds the Blackbird can dish out, or should I take the plunge for the HPX versions? Surely, people have used Pilot Sports on 'Birds... I don't plan on setting any cross-country land speed records, but I do plan on riding the 'Bird like a 'Bird should be ridden - no'tum'sayn?.

3yrs on the Pilots without any glitches, sticks like glue. I usually dont dilly dally on my ride either. I just mounted a HPX for the Cody run, I wanted to see if there was any difference between the standard Pilot Sports and the HPX.

It feel alittle different in the corners but not alot, less flex :headscratch: (stiffer sidewall).

I will not buy another set of the HPX's again and will stick with the standard Pilot Sports for the XX. I have ran them the last 3 yrs and have NO issues with them whatsoever.

The back HPX has 3400 miles on it and is kinda flat in the middle from the highway runs to Cody and back. Normally 3-4000 for the standard Pilot Sport. I dont mind the lack of miles the tire gives me as long as its sticky and I trust it when throwing the XX around.

You cant pay to much for CONFIDENCE!
