I have wanted a mototek undertail since I saw it on, coincidentally Motobeagles XX...Ironically I am getting it from him soon but I have a few questions that some of you might be able to answer

1)are the subframes different between the two?

2)is the tail cowl the same?

3)as far as the ass end goes is the light/fender section the only difference?

D)Hookers

thanks for the help, just trying to work out the details in my mind...somehow I WILL make it work!!

I don't think you'll have too much of a problem making it work. You might want to check with Mototek to see if there are different part #s for each year just to make sure.

As far as I know.....

1) The subframes are different, but it's only in the area that the reg/rec mounts to.

2) There is some debate as to whether the tail plastic is the same or not. I've personally had a 2000 tail on my '97 and it looked to be the same. We didn't think to try it the other way, though. I've heard that they are different, though, but probably not enough to affect the undertail install, IMO.

3) No.....See 1 & 2

D) I prefer strippers that turn tricks.

Congrats on the purchase. That will be a nice addition to an already great looking bike.

No problem, James.

Yep, I could still use the panel, but like I said, I'm in no big hurry.

Going postal, are ya? :poke:

You know, I was gonna give you shit for buying an undertail instead of working on the truck, but it would have come out something like this......

"hello kettle, it's pot here......."
