Mine, 03CBR1100XX purchased new in 2004, now at 10,700 kms :cool: If I would have ridden the XX only, it would have over 27,000 kms!

I use Castrol RX SUPER 15W40 (for diesel) in my GoldWing & XX I use Castrol Synthec 5W50 in my R6 (ride at higher RPM!) :shock: I can get both at Costco for decent price! 12 liters of Castrol RX Super 15W40 for $26.99 CAN 6 liters of Castrol Synthec 5W50 for $28.99 CAN I've used Shell Rotella S/B 10W40 with good results. BTW, I SPORT tour on my bikes and never REV close to the red line!

MICHELIN PILOT ROAD !!! I love them! also like the BT020, I SPORT tour on my bikes!!! so the a/n suit me perfectly for my type of riding!

Sk6f3.... I run 38-39 psi for the front and 41-42 psi for the rear on all the bikes I have had for SPORT touring! :cool: I run 34 psi for the front and 38 psi for the rear on my R6! :!:

I had Macadam 100X on my VTR, good tires! I would suspect that the Pilot Roads are replacing the Macadam 100X...

I've just replaced the original rear D205 by another D205 to match the front one! (9,100 kms but could have done x-tra 2,000 kms to the wear bars) But the next set will be the Michelin Pilot Roads :cool:

Mine runs normally between 81 - 85 Celcius on hwy's and between 100 - 105 Celcius in traffic jam/city etc... If yours is running hotter than the average, you should check the antifreeze, it could be to rich/strong!!!

Mine runs at 80-85 celcius on the Hwy, it goes up to 100-105 celcius sitting at stop light or/and traffic jam really slow speed. That should be pretty close to your # in F. :cool:

The light comes on at around 285-295 kms when riding at a normal pace averaging speed of 120 kph. Between 5.8L - 6.2L /100 kms... :cool: my 2003 xx is up to 7,000 kms (new this summer!)

with a temperature of 26c, at speed of 110-140 km/hre, 82-83c on the bike. When stopping/at slow speed, will reach 100c and fan would kick in but as long as I'm moving, it would be around 94c. once on the Hwy at speed above 80 km/hre, temp goes down to 81-83c.

It could be the antifreeze which is too strong! and if it is, the engine will run hotter for sure! :cool:

38 PSI front, 42 PSI rear ! :cool: I use my XX for SPORT touring :roll: I personally like the BT020s, had those on my 03VFR and even on my 01R1 !

I personally clean my chain twice a season, in July and then before I store the bike sometime in October. I use diesel on a rag to clean the chain. I don't let it sit in diesel though! and I don't use a brush... I clean the sprokets at the same time. Once the chain is clean, I remove most of the diesel, go for a quick ride then lube the chain while it's still warm! That's it!!! :cool:
