  1. Yep XX , VFR, ST1100, GL1800, VTX1800... use the same HH pad from EBC.... But anyway, I have never heard about different left and right pads  !!! That's just stupid ! BTW, my pads wear the same , left and right.... Cheers,
  2. Ok, I post my pictures at imagestation... I can attach it to the post in the forum and I can see it in the preview, but it shows the red "X" in the actuall post. WHY ?! Cheers,
  3. Well, since "tomek" thought me how to do it myself, I try to do it right. Since then I changed my tires twice, and twice for my friends and only once I had to add some weights (very little !). I like to spin the wheel first, and find the heavy spot, which not necessary is the valve stem (!). Then line it up with the heavy spot on the tire. My friends TL had A LOT of weight added (in a wrong spot too) by a shop ! Why add weight if you don't have to ?! Cheers,
  4. ...I received this e-mail from SMT(after I ranted here !), so maybe they are not so bad.... "Peter, I apologize. I figured out what went wrong after we spoke on the phone. I had just dropped the tire prices by $5.00 per tire and had not changed the sheet we keep by the phone. I was iritated because I have people trying to scam me every day. You obviously are not one of those people. I credited your card back the $10. Again I am sorry. I am old and cranky.I will certainly understand if you never shop with us again Blaine Owner" Oh, well....
  5. I will not buy from them again ! The service was great, delivery on time. But they charged my $10 extra, because I called them to place the order !? When I called to ask about the price difference, the guy told me that he runs a business there, and me calling his 800 number costs him money  Fuck them, they can keep their tires - NEVER AGAIN ! You do what you want  Cheers,
  6. To those who have Pilot Roads... Did you install them yourself ? How did you find the heavey spot of the tire ? They have no marks ! Just curious... Cheers,
  7. I leave them on, the way they come out of package...
  8. The Cycle World (the one still on the shelves) did a test of this (I think it's the same !?) product.... Their conclussion - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!! Cheers,
  9. I heard the 'Vinci's on XX. They were very cool looking and not to loud IMO. But you'll have a hard time getting them. I looked around, couldn't find them. Checked with the importer - no more..... Good luck,
  10. Rich, You are probably talking about p# 4 ( http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/200_0351/sea...FTOKEN=60225103 ) I can get it for you from my dealer for $18.62 + 8.75% tax, if you are interested... Cheers,
  11. this would be true with my bike. It's the '99 and it broke in '02 ! It's fourth season....
  12. Has your thumb stopped working ?! I have almost 50K on my 'Bird and it still works fine ! (knock on wood.... or is that pull the wood  ) Cheers,
  13. P.S .... unless he saw a white smoke coming out of your pipes ! :???: Cheers,
  14. He probably saw the "rich" mixture burning out, and probably when you were accelerating hard. I notticed that my tips were darker than most of those at the NEXXT. I think it may be the gas we have here in IL, but I also used the 93 octane. I switched to lower gas and the color on the tips is not so much pronounced....
  15. Yoshimura has the centerstand stopper....
  16. You can either have a bad ground somewhere (less expensive !) , or your wires are shorting somewhere. This happened to me ('99 Bird). At first the light would glow here and there. Any change in the current would either trigger it on or off - HI/LO beam, turn signal, brake light, etc. Then it would stay on longer and eventually shorted my FI unit. Honda mechanics found the part of the harness (around the battery) rubbing against the frame. I was lucky it happened at home (I only had to push about two blocks ! ) and it was covered under extended warranty !!! Otherwise it would be about $1500 job. Have it checked !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck,
  17. That's because your bike is the carb model. the FI XX runs hotter ! Very first complaint after I took the delivery of my '99. The '97 never run that hot, even in traffic. I went back to the dealer and they put new coolant in, made sure the level was all right..... Later on HONDA issued a service buletin about it. Cheers,
  18. I thought you like the stockers.... Sorry to hear that...
  19. So what you are saying is, you don't want to be "Dave" ?! Sorry .... Neverless, thanks for your help
  20. ....I'm very lazy  .... If I won't go away for the weekend (Windsor, Ont), then I'll do it. Or maybe I go to Louisville, KY  .... Otherwise I'll wait till after the NEXXT..... Cheers,
  21. Ok, I feel like Alphabird, replying to my own posts  , but what the hell... So I saw my friend Tom today, who knows technical stuff more than I do and he rode my bike. Right away (before even riding- just pushing on bars) he says that i have to fast rebound , too much oil flowing (what Carlos and Dave said!). He rides it, comes back and says... "it's not to bad. I'd lower it and make it stiffer, but not bad." He thinks that my sag messurements were wrong ( I HAVE TO CHECK IT AGAIN !) And if I feel like, to plug the hole in the valve. So maybe I'm wrong or maybe I imagined the results different.... Maybe I just have to get used to it. I watched him leaving and coming back, and I thought how much I like this bike !
  22. Thanks Dave, I might do that. The RT guy recommended I remove the valves and check again to make sure I assambled them right...... I might play with different spacers first, or even try to put the stock springs and spacers first, to see the difference  If the problem is the drilled hole, I'm surprissed that more people aren't complaining :???: Cheers,
  23. Well, I'm still not happy with my fork . I called the RT and was told that I have to start with the proper sag. So I checked and have 35mm front and 30mm rear. They suppose to be the same right? So to get to the 30mm up front, do I cut the spacer or add some? Sorry for the silly question, but the RT guy is not there.... If I have to add some spacer, will it make the front even higher than it is now? My first impression after the mod was that the bike sits higher up-front now.....I start to feel that maybe the 1.0 springs are to stiff too. I'll try to put the stock ones back to see the difference... I wish I had better results...
  24. This is what HONDA sells ! Part Number: 06140-MAT-315 Description: LIFTER SET Price: $25.49 The price is from Ron Ayers ! ( http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/frames.cfm?c...ogfile=200_0351 ), but even MSRP is about $36.00 , including the gasket !!! If they get back to you, have them check this part # and don't let them charge you $55 !!!
