  1. This job cost me only about 25 minutes of my life. It was as easy as you guys told me. The next time the chain rattles, I am going to simply try coiling (winding) back the plunger and letting it reset against the chain guide. I am wondering if this will settle it down instead of replacing the part itself. BTW, my local dealer did not charge me for the part (Invoice was for $55 plus $2 for the gasket) I explained that this is warentee work, either by Honda for the original work or the part that was replaced. He said he agreed and would let the mechanic argue with Honda. We'll see how long this one lasts 21,000 miles. Mike
  2. :???: Should Honda pay for replacement of this bike's 3rd CCT? '99 Super Blackbird History of my CCT I replaced the CCT at 15,000 miles. I know the chain won't fail soon but I could not handle the noise - and it was the right thing to do. So I had the dealer - that I trust - do the work and advocate to Honda for me. Honda split the difference and it only cost me $89. but now, 5,000 miles later, the cam chain is noisy again and inspection shows the CCT needs to be replaced again. Honda says they will not pay for anything this time. Also, the bike's extended warrentee is over - as it was 5k miles ago. Delaer says Honda should pay for it but can't make them.
