  1. The 57's were replaced by the BT020.... There are OEM BT57 specific to the XX that are still available, but they are mor expensive than any other upgrade tire available ! So many (me included !) don't go back to the stock tire. Same as the stock susspension, the OEM BT57 are a compromise. Ok traction, load and the millage .... I 've got 17K out of my OEM set ! YMMV though..... If you just need the rear, buy the BT020 if you are not to agressive, or the BT010, if you are. Even the BT010 gave me a decent millage, with lot's of grip. Cheers,
  2. You know that picture is out of focus ! Can you fix that ???  CHeers,
  3. You've already ordered the tire, so my advice about getting a new nail, with the head to stop the leak, is a little bit late...... Seriously though, my experience with the BT's seems to be different than from the others. I run the 010/020 combo and then replaced the rear with the 010. From my experience and my style of riding, the 010 lasted about the same amount of miles, with better traction. I had the 020 on the ST1100 and then the XX. I don't think I'd bother with them again. The 010 lasted about 8 - 9 K miles, which is decent IMO. Unless you want to do track days or ride very aggressively, you should be pleased with the 020, but the 010 is a better tire. I ride with a passenger and Givi bags almost all the time, plus my roads of choice are beautifully roads and streets of Illinois (  ) with occasional trips - I rode to NEXXT with them... Now I run the Pilot Road, for about 4K miles now and so far so good
  4. the promotion ended....  ...... http://www.us.pirellimoto.com/
  5. Let us know how you like them.... But you've got only 2700 miles from the BT57's ?! That's low... I do't pay anything for the mount and ballance - I do it myself  It's very simple, when you have someone to show you how to do it, and have some tools. I'm planning to buy this http://www.tireqwik.com/tireqwik/index.html or this http://www.rlmotorcycles.com/home/Accessor...es/Balancer.htm ...... Here is how to do it http://www.clarity.net/~adam/tire-changing-doc.html Cheers,
  6. Buzz, your XX battery should be from Yuasa (made for HONDA)..... Cheers,
  7. HH pads from EBC here ( p # FA261HH ). I think stronger pads than OEM. I had the GTS tires as well and also liked them. You would be safe with Michellin Pilor Road ( that's what I have now ), BT 020 (or 010 on the front), many here preffer the Avon 45/46 combo. Also the new Metzeler Roadtec Z6 is suppose to be a good sport-touring tire.... The GTS has been replaced by the Scorpion Sync, but it seems they haven't made they way to the US yet....... Cheers,
  8. It's okay, I have an excuse.... I'm still learning the language. :poke:    :fingerflip:............ Cheers,
  9. As Vetteman pointed out, it's the X-11, not ZX-11... X-11 is the naked sibling of the XX.... Cheers, P.S Tim , which COURT should we deposit the water weter in, to make more dramatic difference in cooling. I'm closer to the Circut Court by Old Orchard, but I can go Down Town if that would help.....  ....
  10. IIRC, it's the one from the '95 US model........ Cheers,
  11. One guy in Netherlands did this modiffication (from http://gallery.superblackbird.info/index.php ) Cheers,
  12. It's cool, except double check the Honda part numbers. They look like the shorter key numbers for the '97 and '98 model :!: The new keys (from '99 on ) have 8 digits and no letters on the metal tag, where the old, short key had a letter and then 3, 4 or 5 digits stamped on the key itself ..... Cheers,
  13. Are you saying they don't have them in stock ?! If they did it should be easy to find out.... Can you take a picture of the key and post here, I could take it to my dealer, to verify type 1 or 2, or do as Nik sugested.... BTW, both www.ronayers.com and www.bikebandit.com show only one type, Type-1, for the 99-03 XX... but my dealer shows two... Cheers,
  14. A good Honda parts guy, who can cut the keys, should be able to match the cams on the cutter with your key, otherwise just take it to the locksmith with a blank from your Honda dealer, or from Ron Ayers http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/200_0351/han...ridge_99_03.cfm Part Number: 35121-MAS-G01 Description: KEY, BLANK (TYPE1) Price: $6.44 I assume you don't have the metal little plate with the key number.... Hope this helps. Cheers,
  15. I think something is wrong with Joe  ! He didn't answer yet !!! :???: Joe, are you all right ? Cheers,
  16. As far as I know, the tailsection is the same ! The fender is different. But the new light other then the size, has actually less powerfull bulbs. You could get the LED 1157 bulbs. The new light uses different bulbs... Cheers,
  17. I met the two guys at the Chicago show and this past weekend at the Dealer Expo. They seem to be excited to do the XX lights. They have both OEM style taillights in the shop and were going to work on them as soon as they get back. They've been on the road for two or three weeks.... They told me they're not going to Daytona, so they can work on the XX design  Cheers,
  18. I'm sorry to hear about your experiance.... I've heard many good opinions about the Gerbing. They were totally supportive to my friends glove problem (sizing) i.e.... I've met them at few different shows and they are always nice and well supplied there. I have a vest from another company and thinking of getting the liner myself. Going to get the exact size today at the show... Hope you'll be satisfied with the product, when you receive it  Cheers,
  19. Had no problems with the fit of neither one of the filters, CBR1000 and the XX.... :???: Cheers,
  20. 17600 km equals 11000 miles.... Some of us do that in a year  Don't worry, your bike should be fine. Change all the fluids if that makes you feel better, and check the tires, plugs, filter, brake pads, chain - all the regullar maintenance items...And have fun ! Cheers,
  21. I have the Vista Cruise and it works. It doesn't fit as well as those I had on my ST1100 and CBR1000...But it's easy to operate... I'm thinking about the Throttlemeister, though. Cost aside, anyone has tried both and likes one over the other. I know that John prefers the VC.... yet he wants to keep the TM  Cheers,
  22. That's the H-D edition..... Do they have any ramps for Jap bikes ?   Cheers,
  23. THANK YOU ! This is so simple now and makes sense !!! Now I understand.... Cheers,
