  1. Doh! It's been so long since I bought mine I'd forgotten.

    16-17-18 ?

I put a 16 on to try it out. I'll be putting a 17 back on when I change the chain next. I noticed a slightly harder pull off the line, but it wouldn't really be noticeable if I was doing it right. The speedometer is way off, and it always feels like I need a 7th gear.
  3. The GL1800 and GL1500 (Goldwing and Valkyrie) oil filters fit the Blackbird. Grips sized for the Goldwing will fit the Blackbird (any 7/8" grips will fit). Buell XB9R pegs fit with modification.
  4. All three items mentioned have their switches on the left handlebar. Sounds like water.
  5. I've heard of TT Performance in the UK, but I don't know anything about them. Might be worth a look, at least.
  6. Well, I haven't cut open my California header, so I'm not sure where I got that idea. I know they definitely are in the stock exhaust cans.
  7. I bet you give one hell of a Hand Job. As a kid, I spent a lot of time in my room by myself, practicing.
  8. +1 and the Lorraines I had on the rear went real fast The CL pads are wearing REALLY fast. They seem to have really good bite when they're brand new, but no staying power. I think maybe they'd be more appropriate for track use.
  9. Don't pull so hard. Slow, steady, moderate force is what you need. Too fast or too hard and it'll bunch up the rubber and bind.
  10. The square box on your header is also a catalytic converter. There are two more after the O2 sensor in the stock slip-ons.

    ANGLE VALVE STEMS

Hey man.... Get them right from mother Honda. These are stock on GL1500 Goldwings. I just replaced one on my Wing. That being said, I know our birds aren't Wings, but it's a solid valve. Aluminum, not rubber. Just might be the ticket you're looking for! Get the little plastic holders that go between the bent-over part and the rim. This would be the key to keeping them leak-free.
  12. Dude! Let me get you a cup of decaf, alright?
  13. Fuck all you haters! I have an '02 and I know what he's talking about -- it's fucking FAST, man! It corners way better than a Buell XB9R, too -- almost as good as my Factory Racing Special GL1800RR. The XX cornered so well when I got it, that I had to lower the front and rear an inch so that the MotoGP bikes could keep up with me on the track at least in the corners. Still can't hang with me in the straights, though, since I have ~140 more cc. That Nicky Hayden guy has never seen anything but the Pyramid undertail on mine, baby.
  14. I feel a strange tremor in The Force -- a presence I've not felt since *BRAAAAAAAAP*. Oh, it was just the chili dogs.
  15. Uh. Why not just downshift?
  16. Uh. How in the name of all that is holy would it be possible to replace the clutch and brake lines and NOT bleed them?

    Octane question

FWIW, my California '02 says 91 or higher octane. It's stamped on the VIN plate on the frame.
  18. I have the custom 4-1-2 header and D&D slip-ons on my '02. I used the full-system Yosh RS3 map and it seems to be pretty good. Good enough to last me until I can get it on a dyno and tune it properly, at least.
  19. Yep. Baxley's LA Chocks are the best and get even better when combined with a Canyon Dancer.
  20. Kuryakyn ISO grips for a Goldwing
  21. Something is wrong with your forks.
  22. The #3 throttlebody is fixed. You use it as your reference, and you adjust the others using a vacuum gauge. If this doesn't seem like enough information, you need to get someone else to do it.
  23. Fixed that for you. Or at least for me.
  24. Whoa. I think I just wet myself.
  25. Actually, he sold them to me, and I just installed them when I did my Spiegler brake lines. I really like the feel, and since my arms are a bit short, it really improves the reach to the controls. I don't have any of the sensation of not being sturdy enough, so I suspect it's just the change in riding position that made Brian not like them. It definitely results in a more upright position, which is what I was looking for.
