  1. Yuasa's are no better now a days. I've gone throw 4 of them since 04. The one I got this spring was fucked when it was brand new, fully charged it wouldn't even crank the bike over once.
  2. I've got a Rick Mayer Seat and it's great.
  3. Did you put the plastic piece between the cruse and the grip? If there is too much friction it is either adjusted too tight or the grip is too close. I had to trim my grip just a small amount for it to have enough space for the cruse between the grip and housing. Easiest way for install is to take the grip right off and get the cruse the way you want. Make sure you can turn the bars lock to lock without it hitting something, adjust tension on the clamp. Then put the grip back on. These things are VERY simple and have a 100 different ways to install them. I glued mine to switch housing in the position I wanted the thumb control. It's all in how you prefer it to be located/setup.
  4. I think you are right, when I went from a 16T front to a 18T the wheel didn't move much with a 110 link chain. Only one way to find out for sure but it will likely cost you a chain. If you have a old one from your last replacement you could find out, maybe you can put a post up on the forum looking for a chain that is getting swapped, just remember a used chain will be slightly longer so if it is close it may not work on a new chain.
  5. If shipping wouldn't cost me a arm and leg I'd like take that swing arm. Too bad I live in the woods..lol
  6. I'd bet on the start button. It turns the headlight off when you press it in. If the contacts get corroded the light won't come on.
  7. Sorry dude forgot to snap a picture. But it is sitting in the garage I live in apt, garage is on the other side of town thank god for good friends. I'll be over there tomorrow to take the bike out it is suppose to be hot tomorrow. Been raining since Thur. I'll grab a pic for ya. I totally forgot I had a camera in my phone worth taking a picture with or would have done it sooner. What color is your bike or you doing a paint job anyway?
  8. I think you could get the seat off if you take off the rear cowl but would likely require 2 sets of hands to move things slowly so you don't crack the cowl. Latch is cable activated so you just need to find the cable and give it a pull.
  9. Let me check I'm 99% sure I still have one with a few minor scratches. It was replaced by insurance because it had scratch, but it is very minor and you have to look for it. It's off a black 03 and I'm in Canada too so shipping shouldn't be bad. I'll look tomorrow and let you know.
  10. Not sure had a brand new battery this spring that did the same thing. Charge it fully and had right voltage, but wouldn't take any load fully charged it wouldn't even spin over the engine.
  11. The bird's tranny is a pretty stout unit. I doubt you have issues with it. I'd check/clean the clutch rod, maybe change the clutch fluid. And heavier oil does help with the shifting and I'm in the Arctic... Also don't try and baby the shifter, shift with authority. I've never had mine click back to N except when I screwed up the shift.
  12. Ya me too but I'd rather the standard with a cursor than the rich text editor without one. It is a major pain trying to post without a cursor.
  13. It looks like I found a fix/workaround for the firefox issue. 1. Go under the "My Controls" when Logged into the forum 2. Select "Board Settings" under the options on the left 3. Change "Type of text editor to use when posting" to "Standard Editor" 4. Click "Change my Account Options" to save the change. Does this work for anyone else????

    Rectifier

Do yourself a favor and upgrade to the R1's Rectifier if I remember right they are even cheaper. I've never heard of one failing either. Do a search if you need more info someone was even making a harness to swap them.
  15. Hard to tell from the pic but what's the physical size. I've got M-Frames right now and love them but the lens are a bit big for the helmet.
  16. The lines are a very new produce for HEL and at the moment only available though me . I'm still waiting for HEL to send me though pics. So I take it you haven't got your hands on any of the fuel lines yet? Do they have them for other bikes out yet? I'm interested in getting both the brake lines and the fuel lines. But won't buy a new product without seeing some reviews/pictures. Thanks for the info and look forward to seeing more info.
  17. Got any pics of the fuel disconnect? How many lines are in the HEL Brake Kit? Does it replace the hard lines or just the rubber?
  18. http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?...c=66449&hl= Now that is a really nice XX
  19. Should be, if I remember right someone else has done this. Hopefully they will chime in.
  20. Not sure on your DMM but make sure you measure Volts AC when checking the stator not Volts DC. Some do it automatically most you need to change it to read AC. If in doubt try your house hold socket.
  21. Most likely EFI will fetch a bit more than carb. I've never seen a XX in Canada for $4000 that wasn't smashed. Thinking about $5500 would be a starting point... I've seen them go for quite a bit more too, economy will effect the price more than anything. Does the area it is being sold in have alot of unemployment.... Blackbird in Toronto
  22. Not sure what you are asking... 28MPG riding like you stole it would be good millage..
  23. Just replace the flasher, much easier no soildering and you safe power. The resistor just turns the power into wasted heat.
  24. They are real popular up here. I know at least 10 people that run them all winter. Problem is that 2000 would have been first generation, they weren't great. They have a fresh air vent, the colder the air the more O2 so it burns better. If it goes out when it gets warmer I'd bet you have a problem with the air in take, something blocking it maybe. They also tend to have a electric fan that helps blow the air into the fire, this fan maybe dirty or getting bad too. Either would cause it to go out when it got warmer. Does the auger keep feeding pellets right when it is cold out? If so I'd bet that auger and motor is good. A friend of mine has a old one he got for free, he has to adjust the speed of auger as temp changes as when it gets warm it dumps too many pellets and doesn't burn it goes out.
