  1. what's the differenance in height between the chimney's? You may need to go a big higher if your getting a draft. I can't remember heights forsure, but I'll talk to a friend that works on them for you.
  2. Is woodstove chimney seperate? If so how high is it above your place? Top of thechimney not being high enough is major cause of down draft. If the chimmney isn't at least 3 feet higher than the roof usually causes downdraft.
  3. Watch out on removing the resistors... may cause too much power might do damage to the plugs... but worth checking.
  4. I had to tighten my chain at least 3 times before 2500Km streched a bit in the first few months then didn't have to tighten it for the next 7000Km.
  5. If it's on the inside it's no big worry. If it's between the glass the windows are shot.
  6. I'm bidding on one on Ebay... if it falls throw I'll let you know...
  7. Are the stock seat pans the same for all years? Looking to pickup another stock seat to have it modified.
  8. Think it's called tiger hair basicly fiberglass that they use for body repair. Nothing seems to work better than welding but it will last a few years depending on use.... Marine paint works fine... they make a silver that's close to the same color as Alum....

    VFR Bars

I posted a while back asking if anyone had. Didn't get any hits..... I'd just like to know if they'd clear the tank and shield, cables and hoses are easy
  10. I ordered some parts from Partsmonster too this summer. Fantastic to deal with and really fast shipping. Was very pleased. Will be putting another order in with them soon(as soon as I up with funds)
  11. If you strap it higher on the front forks at the bottom of the triple tree you don't have to remove the fender. Just make sure that it's strapped down close to the front wheel or you'll rub the inside of the faring.   This way you can load up the front suspension, even on really rough gravel roads my bike hasn't moved.
  12. How long is your riding season?? Fuck, Yellowknife, Northwest Territory just sounds WAY up NORD!!! MaXX Ridding season is pretty short up here. Usually get the bike out on the road about the end of April, and put it back in storage middle of October. Even with the short season, I get lots of ridding in. I plan to spend vacation on the bike every summer. I put about 15,000Km(9300miles) on it this summer in one trip. Yellowknife to Nova Scotia, 5 days ridding 7,500Km(4650miles) each way. Could have done it in 4 days if it wasn't for the rain. :bike:
  13. First go get a set of headers and duels with a X over pipe. Kit to remove O2 sensors, and you should be good to go......
  14. Don't know the name of it, but it's kinda a tar compound that is flexable that I've seen used for it. Basicly it's like the stuff they use to fill caps on ashfalt.....
  15. I've got a set of Avon AV45/46. they grip really well and I've got about 8000Km on them so far, back tire is about 50% and the front almost looks new. Unfortunatly I've got a plug in the back tire so it will be getting replaced as soon as I can efford it. I don't mind ridding around town with a plug, but no road trips with it. I just don't trust it.....
  16. I've found the best tool for the oil filter is a Boa Constrictor Strap Wrench. I got it canadian tire. Basiclly a plastic handle with a rubber strap on it. The rubber grips what you try to turn. Works great for oil filters and many other apps that you don't want to damage or scratch what you are turning.
  17. Not sure on the temps, but if they can powder coat your wheels without a problem I can't see the rotor being any different.
  18. Depending on the price I'd be interested.

    Brake vib

If it only happen once, my thinking would be dirt or a small rock stuck in your brake.
  20. I bought a set of sony head phones, the type that clip on to the back of your ear. Clipped them onto the foam in the helmet, it's cheep and it seems to work well. Got about 14,000Km on them so far and they are still working great. Some songs are a little low on volume though, will have to get a booster. Player is a CDMP3VCD player.
  21. Mine took almost exactly 4L of oil, can't buy quarts here but I know a liter is just a bit more than a quart. Don't worry about that washer, it doesn't need to be changed. And as far as I can tell those are the min and max lines on the dip stick. Just make sure you check the oil as per the manual, it's a bit different than some bikes.
  22. Never even looked at my plugs yet on my XX, but normally caps come off quite easy. They are just pushed into the wire. Plug has something simillar to a screw on it that you just twist into the center of the plug wire. Every bike I've ever worked on had this type, can't see the bird not having it.
  23. If you took the senic route along the west coast of Cape Breton, (Route 19) you would have drove throw Inverness. I can't wait to get back home and get my bird on the twisties.....
  24. Well just to be safe I think I may just use standard oil for the trip down. It's going to be about 5-6000Miles, do you think I'll be ok without changing it until I get there? I figure 5-10 days riding for the trip(have to make a stop in Ont for a wedding for a few days).
