  1. I changed mine at 18,000 miles and they were still clean burning and just did again at 34,000 miles before going to NEXXT and both times they did not appear to need changing. No noticable performance in my engine that I could tell. But take a look at them after they are out and post up your results after the service and you run a couple tanks through. Maybe it will make a big difference in your case. Certainly can't hurt as long as the mechanic knows what he is doing.
  2. I doubt that unless you have a problem now that you are not aware of. The Bird rarely needs a service and when it does it rarely involves anything other than fluid changes and basic plug changes. I have gotten 130 miles to a tank myself but it was some lively riding. When I ran down I-95 at 3 digit speeds I went through a 1/2 tank in about 60 miles. But that was staying above 8000+ rpm the whole way
  3. www.velocityracing.com Barry's Site were the Turbos are built and tested He specializes in the Busa Turbo system.
  4. I pealed my seat cover back and then used an electric knife and shaved off about an inch and the edges you are talking about and then restreched the cover and restaples back. No Problem - easy 1/2 hour job.
  5. Don't try to convince Kent who holds the world record, of that or Barry, who builds the turbo for Kents Bird, his own Bird and his own Busa or the many other Busa's he has built for the strip. The winner is still the Turbo Bird riden by Kent, built by Barry who owns Veloscity Racing. Last year was 505 hp and a low 7.3 sec quarter mile all street legal Bird.
  6. Honda Directline has them cheap. They are an aftermarket brand but look exactly the same. They stock them for the Goldwing but is the same size for the Bird.

    HID Problems

When I hooked up my first set I found that there was a problem intermittantly with the bulb coming on or just flickering or not coming on at all. Problem disappeared once the bike was running. Seemed that there was a voltage issue if the engine was was not running. Hasn't done it since but I do not just turn the key on to show someone the light, instead I always start it up to show the brightness. Not sure if that helps at all. I guess your problem happens even when the engine is running, but just a thought
  8. An HOUR !!! I thought you rode a Blackbird ? What is it , 30 miles ? = 20 minutes
  9. Kent Stotz's Bird is here in Lauderdale alot being tuned by Veloscity Racing. 505 lbs of Bird 505 bhp at the rear wheel 7.3 sec 1/4 mile street legal and ridin on the local streets here often
  10. I have them in stock here in Lauderdale, if you need one. $30.00 + shipping Shipping would be cheapest by courier ! John's Courier service will be making a past through Palm Beach County this Sunday, weather permitting ! Front door delivery would only cost about a lunch burger. Would even be willing to help you install it since it takes all of 7 minutes to do 8) I just shipped 5 over to England yesterday
  11. Just buy a new truck that they fit in !! Having better visability is more important that small truck tires anyway
  12. If he extends it again for another week, You can send me a check and I will buy a set for you on Paypal and have it shipped to your address for you. Wish I had known you were wanting a set last week. I also just ordered a set to sell here locally but they are the 6000K since the local squids want bling. I can sell them for 250.00 easy here. If want a set of the 6000K I will sell them to you for the cost. They should be here by next Monday.
  13. Rich, I don't really have a connection. I just know of one place here locally that did my front fork lowers for me. I will be happy to check on their work and see about pricing for you when I go by this week.
  14. Ok , Just went through what I have left over from the extenders. I have four sets complete but they do not match in colors. Satin lefts and gloss rights and one set covered with liquid rubber!! I am going to take them all down to the coating shop and have them repowder coated in a Satin Black finish so they all match. Once that is completed I will have 4 complete sets in a Satin finish for sale. They will sell for $53.85 shipped Will list them here when I get them back from the coating shop. I will have to leave them there to get done the next time they do a satin black finish run of other items to get my 8 pieces done cheaply. May take 2 weeks.
  15. Actually the Aluminum Extenders I was selling were made by Bill, board member, and it became to much of an expense to be practical anymore. Plus I have sold a couple sets from England that I can get through Jaws. They are made out of surgical grade high impact Plastic, but are identical to the aluminum ones I used to carry. Comes with mounting hardware and easy install (10mins) I can have them direct shipped to you but the total cost including shipping is $60.00. They come from England and take 7-9 days for delivery.
  16. Good choice on where to buy the Pads from !! Did you pick up a set of the "Awesome Ears" while you were shopping at Directline ?? There are right done the street from me and the owners are good personal friends of mine. I don't know the answer to your Pad problem sorry.
  17. BlackBird upgrades are always so much fun. Your Bird will be so much brighter in the end !
  18. Rich, I told him about us splitting the two sets of the HID's. Plus he called me terrible names on the phone like "Smart Ass" as he did here on the Public forum !!! Wow am I all hot and horny now .... phone sex is so much fun and satisfying !! To much talk about heat I guess.
  19. So does it make since then, that if you hooked up 8 ballasts then you would be generating 880 degrees of heat ??? Wow after a minute of idling you could watch your dash melt before your very eyes ? No the temp does not accumulate.
  20. If TWO ballasts can get to 110 degrees each ...... you can't add the two temps together and say it will be 220 degrees :?: If you line up 110 degree bulbs side by side for a mile, you still only have 110 degrees 110 degrees is nothin when it is sitting just above the top of an engine that operates at 190 degrees and above.
  21. Others should post up here as that is a problem that has happened to many. Mine was the ground under the tank. I have heard that the ground block under the seat has caused it also. FI flickering problem solvers SPEAK UP
