  1. I looked at a few of the melboy seats while over at the Bird bash and melboy does a nice job. Beware of the shipping cost over the pond !!!! Very Very expensive. I personally believe that the Sargent is a better way to go. They put out some great stuff and will build anything you want including a Melboy look-a-like.
  2. Got it. For some reason I did not get a notification from Paypal. Going out today. CC'd you in on the order Thanks John
  3. Paypal today ? Didn't see the paypal today ! Check the email addy you sent it to Should be John@BikeBits.us not .com let me know John
  4. The Schmacher has the pigtail included also to do the same thing for alot less bucks.
  5. Walmart has this one for the 17.99 as Vern stated and I have
  6. Good choice Vern, I bought the same one about 2 months ago when I got the MZ660. Works great and yes a name you can rely on at the right price.
  7. MIke You are correct the OEM is mounted to the center of the triple tree. The Stebel is mounted just above the old place and does not move. I had to grab it and bend the horn mount slightly so that the forks did not touch it when moved lock to lock
  8. I looked at it with my bike ('97) and it looked as if it would/could rub on the oil cooler... and John's oil cooler is lower, with his being an FI bike... Mike I will have to see if I can get a Picture for you but yes it is the Stebel Compact Nautilus Horn. I have two HID starters and transformers mounted to the fairing stay and also the control box for my M20 Blinder Laser Jammer and of course now the Horn as well, all tucked in neatly out of sight. The horn is attached to the point where the fairing stay meets the goose neck. There was a 1/2" hole empty at the junction there that I put a 1/2" X 2" bolt through to attach the "L" bracket to mount the horn to. It is placed a couple inches higher than the original horn mount since the stebel is longer and I needed to keep it high enough to clear the fender under front end heavy loading. It ended up hanging down just right so that you can not see it. It is just barely above the bottom of the nose plastics. Hope that helps. I will have a problem getting a decent picture before the weekend due to it being dark by the time I get home. It is raining every day now so I have been caging it to work this week.
  9. Diffenently mount it up front where it is suppose to be. Plus it is so loud that under your seat may give a sensation that will cause a problem for your Butt while riding !! Remove OEM horn and spring steel bracket and mount new 1" "L" bracket with 2" bolt through hole in frame just above the old bracket, wire up and done. Be prepared before pressing the button........It is LLLOOOOOUUUUUUDDDDDDD !
  10. Guess I have to bring you some more Micro-Fiber to wipe up the tears !! The stuff was awesome and yes I am going to tell her nbl Seriously, thanks for the work especially after a rough previous couple of days at the Hospital. Everything works great. Can you say 139 db LOUD horn
  11. Just got back home from Adams house. Installed the horn first in the stock horn location but was worried about clearance over the front fender under load so we moved it up about three inches by bolting an "L" bracket through the existing hole in the Gauge cluster bracket. Worked out great and just clears the fork tubes when turned lock to lock. Driving home on the Florida Turnpike I tried it out and got lots of attention and think I lost over 3 mph forward speed for every second I pressed the horn button !!! Damn is it loud and powerfull Also installed the M20 Blinder Laser Jammer ! Bring on the laser guns now !!!!! Radar/Laser detector along with the Jammer all tied into the J&M audio system into my Shoei X-Eleven works incredible. But that horn is sweet. Thanks to Adam all the new mods are installed properly and in the right position. And Randi makes a great Baked Ziti on top of it all.
  12. zer, I am going to go against the grain based on what has been posted already ! Do NOT use a compound or sand paper or anything that has abrasives in it. Any name brand cleaner/polish will smooth out most all fine scratches in the clear coat. That being said based on the scratch is only in the clear coat, which from your discription sounds like it is. If all the way through the clear coat, you will never get it to disappear perfectly without a respray but as decribed a buildup with matching color (the hard part) and leveling for a smooth finish will blend it pretty well. Todays clear coat finishes are tough to touch up and get them to blend perfectly but the advantage is the clear coat is more durable and easy to polish out fine lines, swirls and light scratches. After the finish is the way you want it, then be sure to lay a good coat of Polymer based sealant or wax over the whole tank to prevent any further marks.
  13. I have the same horn myself that I picked up a while ago but have never installed it yet. I may give it a try this weekend with Adams help but we are going to try to fabricate a bracket to mount it in the OEM horn position, if we can make enough room. 139 db's is load as hell and just hope the bike doesn't go backwards when I push the button
  14. As Mike explained Check out the HID Group Buy thread I posted the prices Andy quoted me in August this year

That would be SCOTT up on the mountain !!!!!!! He bought a Ti Bird in South Florida, rode it just behind me up to NEXXT (autotrain) then over to 911 in NY then rode it back to Cali, home. A very clean 2000 Titanium that likes new back tires often !

  18. These came from Mike at CTS Moto: Not the best shots but ............
  19. firedlt, check out the picture with the Tag you like, and you will see what the rear signal lenses look like with the free amber bulbs verses spending the money on chrome bulbs for the rear. Not a big deal IMHO Just put the chrome bulbs in the front or due what 99birdman did and run the stock clear bulbs. John
  20. Ok here is the scoop in the clear alternatives lenses. I have them direct shipped to you from Clear Alternatives in Vegas. I offer anything they sell for 20% off there prices as listed on their site. On the front signal lenses I do highly recommend the CB1 Chrome Bulbs instead of the amber bulbs that come free with the lenses. They are 12.99 minus 20% and give the look that you want in the end. Why pay good money to get rid of the amber lense and still end up with the amber appearance from the amber bulb reflection. They are a complete plug and play OEM replacement. $74.99 CTS-0025-C / S C=crystal / S= smoked Bird Front signal lenses complete $12.99 CB1 Chrome bulbs as said above $ 9.00 Shipping --------- $96.98 subtotal -19.40 20% discount --------- $77.58 total delivered deduct 10.39 if no chrome bulbs wanted My site only offers a 10% discount so to get the above pricing you can just run it through my paypal account at John@BikeBits.us just be sure to list the shipping address in the paypal and they will go out immediately. any questions can be directed to me at the same email address or PM here. John Smith

  22. Jaws gets his Clear Alternatives through me There are Smoked front lenses available from Clear Alternatives. I installed a set for Josh at NEXXT. They are not dark smoked but smoked none the less verses Crystal Clear to match the headlight. Actually I prefer the crystal up front but that is just me
  23. Thanks, Mine are all smoked !! Opps wrong thread, that was the legalize thread Seriously tho, 20% off Clear Alternatives prices for members here.
