  1. You might wanna find a new "Parts Guy"..... or better yet just take a look at the CBR1100X parts fische yourself They are readily available online, I often use www.HDLParts.com myself
  2. +1 I searched the part numbers you provided and don't see where they are listed for the CBR1100XX.
  3. Some monster man from Wisconsin needs a set of leathers fit for a giant. He was forced to safety wire a set on for RacerXX !

As shown in the Manuel, you can bleed the linked brake system on the Bird properly and thoroughly without the use of a vacuum bleeder but it is a pain in the butt. The job will require 2 people and should not be attempted by yourself. If there are no other issues other than air in the line, then the spongy rear should disappear, since a properly bled system will expel all the trapped air.
  5. I agree with you with 2 exceptions! I happen to actually kind of like the look even in Candy Glory Red! 1.2 gallons is just to much to give up.

    Brakes

Just a thought to throw into the mix. When you used the screwdriver against the old pads to push the pistons back, did you have the reservoir cap off? It is a sealed system and when you push the pistons back the reservoir cap must be removed. If the cap is still on when you push the pistons back, you will create a problem. Sometimes the plunger gets turned inside out, but that will affect both front and rear brakes and sometimes it will force a leak.
  8. From reading his ad, I think he is going to have a hard time selling it. I would not pay that much for it but somebody just might. There are better deals that come around.
  9. If you have the plugs out, check compression in each cylinder
  10. Noise! Often referred to as a Can of Marbles sound at various rpm's
  11. Nah! Just needs a new BlackBird home! Very cool looking chain guard. If I didn't have a carbon fiber hugger/chain guard already I would pick it up myself.
  12. Send Josh a PM and he will make arrangements
  13. You said bring it to a Dealer. Unless you know that the tech is an A tech at the Dealer do NOT take it there. Here in So Florida the best A tech's are not working at the dealerships. Dealerships charge the highest shop rates as well. Ask around locally for a reputable shop that works on a lot of sport bikes. Their rates will be cheaper and chances are you will get better service performed. It really should be a relatively easy thing to figure out with some multimeter skills and the right wiring diagram.
  14. You need to see if you have voltage at the fuel pump when the key is turned on. If you have voltage at the pump then replace the fuel pump.
  15. hooray! Great Job Sir
  16. I will let him know you have one, he will be back home next week.
  17. Joe, Capt.Mike is also back looking for a Digital dash as well since the one from TN never arrived! That is, when you go looking again in the near warmer future!
  18. The connector is not the issue. He has multiple wires that are all corroded up. He was looking to replace the whole harness itself due to finding so many wires badly corroded. He was opening up the harness and cutting back wires looking for good looking copper and stopped peeling back insulation at a foot log in multiple directions on multiple wires
  19. Jon, It will take a little time but I happen to have a complete linked brake system that I took off a 2000 bike that I parted out a few months ago. The complete Bird system has about 8-10 lines I think. I can measure up what ever you need.
  20. They are Not proprietary and are readily available online
  21. He is currently going through the harness wire by wire and will be replacing any and all bad (corroded) wires as needed.
