    New Chain

Well had a new chain put on yesterday. Went with the RK. Brought the bike to my local guy and he put it on in a flash. $95 installed. Is that good? Anyway he showed me how to do it, but I would need the rivet tool to do it. Are they expensive? Is it worth buying one, or just pay the $15 to have him put it on each time? What do you think? Ken
  2. Are these the same ones you can use on snowmobiles?
  3. Wow, thanks Redd. I am going to have to try this one. I don't like cottage cheese though. I do hope you can't taste it! Ken
  4. I really like the looks of this screen. The Givi offers a little more protection, but I am only 5'8" and dont seem to notice the difference. Now I hardley ever ride too up so not sure how it is with someone on the back. But for $21 shipped you really can't go wrong if you don't like it. Ken
  5. I really like my SST. In fact I just ordered another one for a spare. Took my Givi off and put this one on. It does not look like the photo above though for the bird. I don't think it looks bad at all. Ken
  6. Dave I have constant power to mine. Ran it right from the battery to the unit. Since I unplug and remove when ever I park, I thought this was the best way for me. With constant power I can leave it on when I stop at rest stops and still view with out turning on the key. To each thier own I guess. Let me know if you need any help. Ken
  7. Very good point TJ. Just make sure you have one before you start this. My dealer had to order one for me. Did not have it in stock. Ken
  8. Nope not different. I had enough slack. Just remember to put down a soft towel or somthing so it does not scratch the paint.
  9. I followed the instructions here. Was not that hard at all. Screw taking all the plastic off. That would be a real pain in the ass. Just make sure your tank is really low on fuel. It will make it alot easier. Ken
  10. I agree with John on this. If it were me I would spend the extra $20. My bike went over in a storm and it cost me $700 to fix. Ken
  11. Ok I know that this has been covered before but can't remember. I have a dark windscreen on my XX and going to mount my Escort 8500. Does the the dark smoke reduce the distance of my radar detector range? Should I put my Givi screen back on? Really like the smoke windscreen because you cant see the unit and I can put my helmet over the thing if by chance I got pulled over. Any thoughts? Ken
  12. Craig, am I missing something on the Stemstand web-site? I can only find a handle bar mount for the XX. Do they make a stand the fits the XX that mounts two the steering stem? Ken
  13. Yep me too! Easy job if you take your time.
  14. These people are great. I won a tank bag at a local dealership just before the Hoot. $135 bag. Very very nice. Anyway, it did not come with the mounting kit. So I ordered the mounting kit on Monday and had them send it to me 2nd day air for Wednesday arrival. When it came the straps and magnets were wrong. What I found out it was an older bag that I had one and it needed different straps and magnets. So called them Thursday morning and they sent out the correct items out to me overnight air at no charge to me. Was able to take the bag on my trip and when I got home sent them the others back to them. Great customer service. Ken
  15. Yep that is what I use since I have owned the bike and have not had a problem. Walmart $18.88 for a 5 quart container. Ken
  16. Way too much information!
  17. I agree Harry. Just put on 250 miles today on them. I am not set for next week. Really like these tires so far. Ken
  18. Yes, mine are in!! Going on tonight after work. Finally things are looking up. Ken
  19. On mine I just toasted the adapter. Bought them from the dealer at $10 each.
  20. My guy has my rear but not the front yet. Hope it comes in next week or I might be screwed for our trip! Ken
  21. Well how I would do it is a little different then how others are doing it. First I would take of the front and back rims from the bike. Remove both tires, brakes and bearings from the wheels. Then I will load them into the car and take them to shop and have them done! Ken
  22. http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1105. Here it is. It happened to me and I had to replace the plugs. Ken
  23. I have looked in several Walmarts and only found the one 15W-50 5 quart in one store. It just might be an area thing. Ken
