  1. Not very long unless you change it soon I would ride easy till you do JS
  2. On both the XX and the 954 I found that a medium size pipe wrench will fit on the oil filter well enough with out taking the fairing off. On the 54 I do have to spread the fairing at the bottom alittle. Works as good as any filter wrench. Jeff
  3. But be forwarned, its possible it won't fit. I'm not the only one here who has this problem but my fender has a twist to it right from the mold and the extender rubs on one side, had to remove it in my case. How the hell are you Tim? Have not talked much with you since our last ride and Cody was real busy so we were unable to chat much. Hope all is well, Jeff
  4. Interesting mod. How long does a bottle of gas last and the cost of refills? Jeff
  5. They recommened the update for greater stability if you ride hard or do track days . Had mine updated at 6k and it did calm the front down,on the 954 anyways. I doubt if it would be an issue with the XX. Jeff
  6. This is interesting,on my cbr954 which had tapered bearings Honda has updated them back to standard roller bearings to help eliminate head shake. On the XX which is heavier this might not be a problem. Jeff

    Tires

[quote name=" The rear was determined to be a "test" tire' date=' that's why it wore out so fast, and also that's why Avon wanted the whole tire back not just a piece cut out of the tire with the DOT number. I have around around 500 miles on the rear and some of the nubs are still on the tire. My avon is about shot at 5k,do you have a number for me to call ? I wonder if I have a test tire,Cal would like to know two since his is shot also with like mileage. Thanks,Jeff PS Can someone tell me how to properly use the Quote feature? I"m shot today after a 450 mile ride on the 954 yesterday.

    Tires

Dave, I have ran BT's for years,if you are looking at long life I would advise agaist them and go with avons. On my gpz1100 which is similar to the XX best I could do is 5-6k (rear-front) Jeff

    Tires

Please tell me how you get 10k,I run those on the rear of my 954 and get about 3.5k.Yes I ride somewhat hard but even if I putted around I don't think I would get even 8k. Must be doing something wrong. Jeff
  10. Info in this thread---- http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forum/viewtopic.p...ght=oil+filters
  11. I have to agree they stick well in the dry on a good surface but they suck over tar snakes big time if you ask me (or Cal). Anyone else feel the same? Tar snakes have run me to the outside of more than one turn where other tires I have used were not not sensitive to them. I might add that these tar snakes were not hot and gooey (sp) Nothing works well then. Jeff
  12. Any chance this bike has been wrecked,? My wrecked gpz acted like that with a bent frame. Just a thought. Jeff
  13. Don't believe a word of this,me thinks Steve just faded and wanted to stay behind with the wemen Jeff
  14. Joe,can you elaborate? I have never had to set anything on other bikes.Jeff

  16. Welcome! Nice lean angle with the bird on your website. But could you redo the text in English?
  17. Thanks for the info guy's. What is a tar-string plug? I have seen the mushrooms. JS
  18. For all these years and trips I have yet to get a flat out on the road,( I should not say that to loud) Think its time to carry a plug kit. If I'm going to carry one I want the best, any suggestions? Jeff

  20. I just velcro the unit to the top of my tank bag.,windscreen protects it from bugs, and it goes with me when I remove the bag.Course the unit has a self contained battery which makes it real easy to remove. Jeff
  21. For those who have installed the Avon 45/46 and also have a Pyramid hugger has there been any clearance problems? Need to order some for Cody and I don't want any surprises. Thought somebody said they had a rubbing problem, just checking, Jeff
  22. Anyone know the pin number that works for the XX? Think I'm using #5 for the 954. Thanks, Jeff
