  1. Have him put it all back together for 3,600. If it doesn't run well, end of story, walk away.
  2. Hunt on cycle trader. You can find wrecked bikes there all the time. Ebay too. I bought a fliped over '04 gsxr750 for $3000 and it came with ALL of the replacement parts! 1.5 days in the garage and it was tip top. Haven't had a single problem. It is rough around the edges, but for a sport and touring bike, i love it. I don't think i'll ever buy new again, since i love having kick around bikes with some scratches and dents. Not picking up chicks on them anymore.
  3. Hell yeah!! Rt 60 rocks!!
  4. Yo, organ. How much are you thinking you'd want for it? I'm 'local'.
  5. ALWAYS start with the battery and the wire loom fix.
  6. Buy a jump rope. Work out either before or after the littleones go to bed. Walking is better than nothing, but don't fool yourself into thinking you're really working out. If you don't have a good sweat pouring off of you when you are done, you didn't work out.
  7. Those aren't aftermarket. Those are stock GSXR mirrors, from a late model bike. I believe they are standard issue for an '08. I just put them on an '04. Clean it up? Dude, that is clean!!
  8. I found a good deal on some late model GSXR mirrors that come stock with turn signals installed. On a whim, i bought them figuring i could figure out how to mount them. It took some creativity and drilling, but not too much. All in all, i think they add a lot of visibility when you are turning...which is always a good thing. The mirror rides more forward and lower than the stock mirror, but visibility is actually slightly better. It gets around my elbows better. Here are is a pic of the new one with a smoked lens (swapped out for a clear one). The other picture is the new mirror on the left and the old stock mirror on the right.

So it is not the chain? did you check it?
  10. '02F4i with 22k miles. One owner in awesome shape. Anyone want to trade plus $$ for a nice jet ski? Just thought i would throw this out there and see if anything sticks.
  11. Nice bike? Where are you in albany? I grew up in burnt hills.
  12. I call the oversized shades on women, "insecurity goggles".
  13. Free bump for a guy that has balls. And for a sweet bike.
  14. Replace the CCT and ride it man. Don't worry, its a honda. Think about how many noises our cars make w/o us even noticing because there is a sound insulating engine compartment. A bike is a bit misleading because its right there and you can see and hear everything.
  15. I just had an issue with an 8 month old Walmart battery "EverStart". It worked great for the end of the season,,even rode it to work. Came home and blam...dead battery. Weird. Turns out battery was bone dry!! Just added some distilled water and going to throw a charge on it and see what happens.
  16. There are tons of connectors out there. I have an HDMI>Serial sitting next to me.
  17. What about suspending them with a bracket from the windshield bolts? They would remain fixed and you could plump them fixed, as they would not need to rotatate.
  18. I suggest putting a new battery in and then continuing with tests. Worst case, you can take it back to walmart. Always start simple and work your way up. If the stator was bad, your battery would be dead in a short period of time.
  19. Just remember that the more aggressive you get with braking, the more stress goes onto the rotor. I'm not saying it is a problem, just keep in mind that energy has to go somewhere and it goes to the rotor.
  20. Never said NO potholes....but it's a myth that they are any worse than anywhere else. I don't know how they got bent. Ya, they are worse than many other places. I live in CT, reguarly drive/ride in many states around me. The GW bridge and around it has some of the friggen biggest holes and huge piles of warped asphalt i have ever seen. When trailering the bikes south i take 684/287 TappenZ, just to avoid the entire mess. Adds 30 mins, but is well worth it.
  21. What holds a tire together, isn't the rubber. Plug it and go.
  22. I'd be interested in the mirror extenders and CCT, if you decide to ship.
  23. J, is your low beam the projector? Or is the projector the High beam? That kit you posted a link to .... would be an incredably difficult retro fit to put into the XX headlight. Then.. I'm not sure you would really gain anything.. over using the DDM tuning Bulb and one of the sheilds I make. Using the sheild I make... you will not loose ANY of the light that is in the beams focus patern. The only thing my bulb shield does is stops the unfocused light that is coming off of the end of the bulb. If you look at a standard DOT H7 bulb, you'll see that the tip or end of the bulb is covered with ceramic piant. The HID H& bulbs has no covering, and due to the light intensity and heating issues involved, it can't... so don't go trying to piant your bulbs. They'll crack and break. Again.. hence why I made the sheild. .. I live in a town that has the City, County, and State Patrol headquartes all within 3 miles of each other... I pass and follow officers every day.... day and night, and I have never had one of them pull me over because of my headlight.......... again hence why I built the sheild. The sheild STOPS the glare... and puts all of the Light where it was designed to be..... On The Road. Projectors focus the light very well. Sure you can design a custom reflector, but why? They are easy to install, i think. Cut off the back of the reflector housing, level the projector in the housing and glue it in. Sure there are lots of details, but i don't find it that hard.
  24. Just buy a used HID projector housing and lens. You can easily get 2 for $100-150 and then you have a system that you can accuractly adjust, put the light infront of you instead of all around you, and you will not blind others. ebay or hidforums FS section Here is a complete bi-xenon kit for $150 (bulbs, shrounds, projector, ballasts) Super good deal if you have headlight, or would like an additional high beam with your halogen. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_i...products_id=927
