John, I remember last year in April that I almost bought the silverbird when it looked very bleak for John B.? I came very close to purchasing his bike but he made it through. Hold on to it!!!!!! I sold an '86 Suzuki 700 Intruder with stock drag bars and mag wheels that was mint and rare. It would have been a great starter bike for my sons. I regret it very much!!! I got 13,000 out of the Pirelli Angel rear tire. I commute mostly - about 80 miles a day and had only 1 long trip to Colorado and back 2,000mi +/-. Grandpa

+1 to that... I run Evans NPG+... thanks to ... Byrdman I am thinking of changing to Evans NPG+ - anyone have problems finding a cap that will seal the radiator and make it a closed system? I read that this is something that you must do with the Evans NPG+. Is this what you did? Kazi

I have been reviewing the regulations from the various groups that have access to the Bonneville Salt Flats and there are some items that I need your help on: 1) Steering Damper - who makes a good one for the XX? 2) Fuel shut off - Does the fuel pump automatically shut off when I hit the engine kill button? 3) Lanyard to the engine shut off switch - How do I rig this up? 4) Aero/quip or equipment fire sleeve shall cover all gas/fuel lines - Where would I get this? 5) Safety wiring of the oil drain plug - can I buy a bolt that has the hole in it already? Where would I connect the wire to? 6) Safety wiring of the front and rear axle nuts - I can probably use a castle nut on the rear but the front? Any clues? I am sure I will have more as time goes on but these seem to be the ones that I need help on. I appreciate any help you can throw my way. Kazi

+1, same on my '03. +1 on my '03 it goes off at 209 F. I see temps in the 220's and even up to the 230's.

Yes sir, I cleaned the piston outer area as well - there was some crud that took a little extra scrubbing with a cloth and brake cleaner to get off. I used new brake lubricant on the slides also. I finally decided to re-bleed the system and fill it up again - just to be sure the lines were clean. Then I checked the fluid coming out and there wasn't any particles but it was cloudy - I figured that was the air particles getting trapped in the fluid. What fun! Do you think that over time they will have less friction and roll easier? The bike had only 7,500 miles on it when I purchased it in April. I have 17,700 on it now. Should I look at replacing the wheel bearings anytime soon?

Last week, I replaced my tires with Pirelli Angels. I noticed that the front pads we rubbing on the disk with the brakes off. So this weekend I replaced the front pads and drained and replace the brake fluid. Still the rubbing is there. I took off the calipers, pads and cleaned them and still no better. Any ideas? :icon_think:

I am having an issue with the fan connector - it will not come loose! I am trying to change the spark plugs and this little black 2 wire :icon_banghead: connector is kicking my butt! I have tried squeezing the sides where the tabs are an nothing is working. Am I being a dufus and missing something totally obvious? Kazi
