something similar happened to me once and it turned out to be the oil filler cap was not tight and over time there was a small buildup of oil which dripped onto the exhaust. Now I make it a point to periodically check the tightness of the filler cap

a 12v test light and some trial and error worked for me but then again I use to be an electronic technician

I am on my third set of road pilots since I bought the bike in early '03 and I get from 10k to 14k on the rear and a lot more on the front

Matey where did you get yours? Jaws? unfortunatley Jaws told me he cant get them anymore so I need an alternative source! mine has faded too much

nope not stock, 16t on the front...and yes put the speedo healer on as well unfortunaely I put a positive value in and it indicated 120 at 80 (roughly) lol! Plus put the rear wavy disk,chain and a new set of rear pads on.

Is the front sprocket bolt right hand or left hand thread? I am trying to put a new one on but I have broken a ratchet and a socket trying to get it off, its that tight!! Can anyone help?

my bike was this way when I first bought it...it had dunlops on it with no visible cupping but based upon the reports of a lot of guys I opted to replace them with pirelli diablo tires. the vibration and high speed wobble i had, vanished completely...I now use michelin and still dont have any vibes...when it comes to this bike I wont put dunlops on ever again!

anyone ever run a 15T front sprocket? I was told never deviate more or less than one tooth on the front. Is this right?

I changed my fork oil last night and this morning the first bump nearly sent my spine through the top of my head!! Once I started investigating seems I put too much oil in. The manual said 16.3oz and I put 16. Measured from the top with forks extended (is this part correct?) I discovered 140mm is NOT 1.4cm!! I cannot beleive I messed the conversion up!! How should this be done? Can someone spare me searching through 13 pages through the search function and break it down gently?

I dont know much about the FI birds but can the throttle bodies be synced? I know it helped tremendously on mine but I have carbs

I have that on my 97. Since its my only mode of transportation I was worried and changed my CCT (got one of the x-11 ones from Furbird last year) but that didnt totally solve my issue. My mechanic friend said it was fine so I been riding it since with no problems. but it still makes me nervous on the occaision where I notice it
