What are your bodily dimentions? height, torso length, sleeve length, etc.. That way I could reference the comfort level expected from those risers. .

How old is the fried ballst? My 35w HID system has been transplanted on many different motos since 2003, currently on a 250cc Chinese scooter, that has over 10,400 miles on it most of while with HID operating. Mine is not a slim ballast, but I do have other 55w slim ballast HID systems on other motos, I wonder how long they will last.

My 98 has the same hook mounted ones.. I removed them yesterday prior to re-installing the side plastics... got the XX up to 115 mph.. can't say there is a difference without them.. engine/exhaust heat still cook my legs at slower traffic speed.

Sounds to me like a loose heat shield somewhere.. maybe try raising the engine rpm slowly.. not just wack the throttle and let it close..

Mine are just hanging loose from their mounting points at the top.. easily taken out once the side plastics are removed from the bike.

Anyone have removed the removable foam pieces that resides between the side plastics and the engine? What exactly is the purpose of those pieces, noise damping, heat insulation? Any possible ill-effect if they are left off the XX?

It did not seem to change with the engine revs. It also went away for the whole 17 mile ride home. I kept speeds under 50 on back roads. What if the bike is sitting still and you rev the engine from idle? does the frequency of the noise change as you raise the idle rpm with throttle?

Are you asking if the Suzuki SV650 turn signal connectors are teh same as the Honda Blackbird? My bet would be, "No". Different generation SV650 have different connectors, in-line resistors for LED turn signal rate correction should just be crimped in-line. I do like the relay replacement method: clickey

Does anyone know the power generating difference between 97-98 Blackbird stator vs 99-07 Stators? Here's a pic of the stator that's currently on my 98 Blackbird.. Does it look like a OEM stator for 97-98 model?

Has anyone ever modify the chin cowl on their Blackbird to allow more airflow to the header pipes?

What does it mean when I replaced the R/R and the new one also gets fired within a few miles of riding? Here's the OEM R/R looks to be fried, wiring seems to be in good condition: The new unit got pretty hot to the touch just idling at around 1500 rpm for about a minute, battery voltage was reading healthy 14.4v around 3000 rpm.. The after a short ride of 6 miles, the idling voltage dropped to 12.4 and doesn't get above that even when engine is reving at 3000 rpm.. and R/R was hot to the touch.

I have used LED 1157 bulbs on many of my other motos.. I plan to use them on my Blackbird also.. never had a problem, there are plenty of different type of LED bulbs that could be suitable for tail light or turn signal light usage, you just need to find the right ones for your purpose.

I don't use the brakes so much, as long as the pads are there and I have brakes to stop, doesn't really matter which brand of pads i have.
