  1. Drill and extract. I wouldn't heli-coil, and you shouldn't need to, if you drill straight. Just knowing a bolt is stripped would bug me so bad, I'd tear the bike down if I had to. Perhaps you aren't obsessive though.
  2. Shit man, we're rich. Look at all the poor bastards that don't like bikes! Now that's poor.
  3. Oh yes, I feel so much better now... Now what's that word everyone reffers to you as... dopplehead.. hooplehead! shit man, get it right!
  4. When you're done return the socket to Sears! you know it! Then I'll make another that fits better! hehe!
  5. Made one. It worked for removal. We'll see if I can figure out how to torque install everything w/it, or if I'll have to make another. Took 10 minutes to make it anyhow.
  6. Maybe this will help. I haven't a clue, but I can identify with what you are going through. There, feel better?
  7. Have you checked the stability on it yet? Tell me how hard you pushed when the bike fell over, I might wanna buy one if they're that cheap!
  8. Last I recall, redbird has it figured. Sometimes the boots like to stick to the ceramic, BADLY! The shields are just that, and will be moved to new wires. Keep twisting if you can, until it spins instead of flexes. If they tear apart, then it was time for new ones anyway. I use a plug wire puller when there's room. Gap all spark plugs, and look under the hood for the sticker to make sure if it uses platinum or iridium plugs. Can I reccommend ac delco? Watch the elbow, It aint that funny when you slam the hood or fender with it!
  9. I'll let you go without the jokes this time, but only because I'm off to make my own w/your suggestions. Don't think that your information disproves how much of a wang you are.
  10. hold it for me and let me know when you get in. thanks -Shane
  11. I have a set of D&D exhaust slip-ons and mid pipes. These things are in good shape, no dents and only light scratches. They have less than 10k miles on them, but are too loud for my tastes. I am looking for anything a little quiter, yet retains some bling value. I am open to suggestions and offers. Perhaps I should ebay them and buy others?
  12. I have read that the '02 windscreen does a decent job, compared to my 1997. I guess I am looking for any year of screen that is taller than mine. I have seen the touring style aftermarket screens, and they seem to kill the lines! I was hoping to start small and work up. Anyone got something for me to give a go, let me know. Gotta go, won't be slow, I aint a ho, but I do know mo, who if cool fo sho, let's me smoke his indo while he's in tokyo.. . .bro.. peace-out!
  13. The swing arm pivot bolt has a funny locker. page 14-19 in the manual. I was wondering what you guys are using to get that swing arm off with? That's a big freaking allen wrench too. Anyone know what size that one is. I'll go measure it, but a second answer never hurt. Thanks -Shane
  14. excellent. going home to tear into her right now. thanks guys.
  15. I was hoping that would work. Kinda nervous when I use the oil pan (it doesn't leak yet), but if it works, it works. I'll use the strap idea, too bad I gotta pull it off that rubber dick of yours airborne. You mind washing it for me, I'll cum get it tomorrow. fucking wang, I knew you'd have the answer!
  16. Wanting to remove the forks and swing arm. What's the easiest and best way to keep the bird off the ground? Thanks. -Shane
  17. Bump. where you get those pegs? Btw, Once again, John's Bike Bits delivered my goods in record time. thanks!
  18. you ever going to pass it back?
  19. Guess I'll start looking into pipes. Not the little glass one's either! Well, took some advice and decided on a semi-gloss seat. Seems like it is kind of two-tone where the gloss is up top, and flat down low. I didn't want to ruin the tough ass gloss paint on the tank, mirrors and rear bar, so I redid the seat. I think it looks damn fine! Made the seat an inch thicker too, helped with leg cramps! Now for those hard to find VFR bars. Notice the use of the center-stand? I always park it like that now.(since it's fallen over before!) See, even hoopleheads can learn new tricks! :icon_clap: Thanks all for the compliments. Usually the crap I own doesn't get positive remarks. doh!
  20. +1 I am going to have to make a black seat, I guess. A bagster aughtta do nicely for the tank. Thanks!
  21. And the D&D's add to that! 1.5+ miles away the'll hear you. Ouch! You aint kidding! Those pipes aer feaking loud! Anyone got any decent pipes that are quieter? They look good, but 2miles is a conservative estimate! I am 6'3" tall and have a stock windshield. I try to lay flat on the bike and get under the screen, I have to slide my ass all the way back. Of course that's only under full tuck. Not to mention, it eases up on the angle of my legs. I have the lowering pegs and they are awesome, but my legs still tuck really friggin tight. I hope a little taller seat that allows me to sit back, will get me away from the screen and decrease my leg bend. Next will be some bar risers.
  22. Finally, a cool gadget I don't need! My bird shifts like magic at every speed and rpm. I have noticed kick-back when going into nuetral, but that's only when I'm being a jack ass and trying it at excessive speed. Anyone have a general idea of how long the stocker lasts, under fairly mild riding conditions? I do quite a bit of shift riding in town. Thanks. looks like an awesome product!
  23. Yep, can't wait to buy a tank bra/bag. I saw one of black leather that had a snap on bag. I'm sure it's expensive, so I haven't searched around lately. Someone here has it in the forum. Don't know about the seat. I kind of like the marine grade, hammered vinyl. It looks similar to the aluminum on the bike. Since I sit nearly all the way back sometimes, I am still working on the shaping. Perhaps a black cover for the end where I don't sit, would let it look good while on stand, yet incognito while rolling? Hey, my dream bike still has a way to go. Any other opinions and ideas? You know, small, inexpensive, incognito, look cool gadgets? Peace bro
