2001 redbird. would it be the battery if the bike starts fine and all gauges work fine with the exception of the tach which jumps up and goes past redline as the stumble happens then back to 0 when the engine dies?
  5. draining the tank and adding seafoam did not stop the stumbling i also checked the safety switch on the kickstand visually it looked good.the stumbling has become almost constant the engine actually dies and i have to pop the clutch to restart. the tach also will bury itself past the redline.i want to check the plug wires but need to strip the fairings.can anyone give me the order to remove the fairings?

    seafoam

i drained almost all the suspect gas from the tank.i will let it sit for 3 days then refill it. do i just add the seafoam to the new gas and if so how much? i'm hoping this was what cause the stumbling a few days ago.should i maybe put a gallon of 70% alchol in shake it up then drain that b4 refilling?see bike stumbling 09/25.
  7. put it in reverse make sure area behind is clear get up some speed slam the brakes
  8. 2001 redbird 7200 mi had it about a month got it with 5900 mi.only use premium gas simce i have had it never below 1/4 tank .now for the problem yesterday while comming home on the interstate doing about 110 mph banking curve to right when the engine stumbled, like i suddenly let off on the throttle, the FI light lit as this happened.BTW i was about 10 mi in on a 27 mi commute.the fuel gauge read 1/2 i stopped and filled the tank.the rest of the way home no problem even ran upto 186 no stumble.today coming in to work it stumbled several times running between 110 -125 each time the FI light comes on.could this be fuel problem or ignition problem???
  9. 2001 cherry red all stock picked it up in detroit drove to nola followed wife 800 mi 70-80 mph all interstate 44.5 mpg.left wife last 400 mi 100-140 mph dropped to 36 mpg. xsitement factor is inversly prportional to mpg.

    driveway sunk

thanks for the suggestions guys jacking sounds to be a good option however down here in NOLA it is hard to get anyone out to work esp with FEMA dumping our tax money everywhere.btw CFO drives a mustang.maybe the thing to do is wait until FEMA stops paying inflated prices then find someone to do the jacking thing.

    driveway sunk

Well... yes. Doing a complete R&R... would run around $7.25 per square foot ... around here. Covering the entire area with epoxy and paving stones could be even more or just slightly less... depending on the quality and desired outcome Cold patching never looks right in my opinion, and always looks like a bandade... which would possibly devaluate the house. So ... yes... at about $1.50 - $3.00 a square foot.... mud jacking is cheap, fast and relatively painless, and astetically pleasant.

    driveway sunk

i am a new member already joined but haven't picked up my 2001 cherry redbird. after KATRINA i found that my driveway has sunk down about 2" from where it meets my slab.the CFO's cage drags when she pulls in.was wondering if i could glue paving stones directly to the cement?
