    Tire report...

Jerk 12'' of snow last 12 hours. And it is still snowing.
  2. Cool I love these project threads, and are looking forward to se pics, progress and cussing
  3. Go and buy some And don't use a wrench on high torque bolts. They're not made for that kind of work
  4. :icon_thumbsup: I love this place Need help or things? just ask and help comes
  5. I went for the VFR bars. Bjorn had spare set and he sent me them already. When I had my '99 XX, I replaced originals with VFR bars and liked them a lot. That's why I wanted for this bike as well. Takk Bjørn. Bare hyggelig And you got the Norwegian letter right too. Hyvä poika
  6. I got a set of VFR bars, and sins I got your exhaust for free, I'll give it to you. Just to cover freight Bought these from TOXXIC http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=58038
  7. Less than 100 miles a year!! :icon_snooty: And original fluids I change oil every year because I don't want high levels of acid in my oil. Wonder how good lubrication a 8 year old oil gives And 8 years or more old Bridgestone...... spooky...
  8. Nope...the Sena was $149.00. Bill....question. I have your exact set up. Sena, iPhone, 660. If I want to broadcast my music through the goldwing speakers can I pair the 660 with my iPhone and have the music on my iPhone play through the 660? My 660 plugs into the audio jack of the wing. So...if the music DOES stream via bluetooth from the iPhone to the 660 I can get rid of the SD card I am using for music that is in the 660. If I can do what I am asking...how do you control the music? On the iPhone or the 660? I'm considering replacing the old Garmin 2610 with a Zumo 660. How easy is it to do on the Wing Dave ? Personally....I liked my Zumo 550 better than the 660. For one single reason....the tactile buttons on the 550 made it easy for me to advance or reverse songs. If I wanted the next song...I hit the + button...DONE. Now...I need to exit the map screen by hitting the "NOTE" icon then advancing the song then hitting the "BACK" icon to get back to my map. I hate having to do all that to skip a song. Other than that....it's a great unit. Do you have a specific question? Easy to hard wire, east to integrate with the AUX cord, takes SD cards to load up music....it's awesome. You said it I just wondered how easy it was to hardwire it to the bike. I have a 5 cd changer, and a 32 GB MP3 player connected to the stereo, so no music is needed from the GPS

  10. WD-40 or chain wax? Or maybe a Scottoiler? LOL, not a bad idea. I prefer stor and lube We have a bunch of forklifts at work, and if they're not serviced every year the wear and tear on them gets costly.
  11. Nice work. Don't forget to service the lift. Lubricate chain etc...
  12. It sucked. Tried 1 set and went strait back to 180. Harder to fall inn to twisties.
  13. Thanks for the tips. It sounds like the Super 10 is about the size I need. What do you do about tank covers? I now have a Lockhart 1/2 cover and like it so far. Will it work out with a Cortech bag? If so, will the magnetic or strap style be better with the 1/2cover or do you think its better to go with a full cover? If you want a tank cover and a bag, BAGSTER is the best. Had mine for 11 years now. You clip the bag to the cover. Quick and easy and no magnetic that can scratch the tank. www.bagster.com The bag holds 30 bottles of beer I had the tank cover on all my bikes. Nice! :icon_thumbsup: Same as mine. I drove my 84 GSX750ES for years, and bought my first Blackbird in 2000
  14. CHANGE IT !!!!!! And I wouldn't bother checking the rest so much If it's charging about 14V when idle it's ok.
  15. Post up some porn, and we'll forget the rest
  16. +4 I even got 2 sets. I for each bike
  17. +2 Carb Birds run cooler because they have a larger radiator. +3 Noticed big difference on my 97 and 05.

    Bent Forks?

Yepp! Been there and done that But not on an XX. I had a big mishap on the old Suzuki and drove of the road and had 60 mph on the meter when I went out of road Hit a ditch and flew of the bike. I and the bike was roughed up pretty good, but I got it back on the road . Noticed the forks were bent and drove home. Had those in a machine shop, and it had 10 mm clearance. Could almost put my pinky under it. They filled it with sand and got it 99% right. Didn’t notice anything wrong after, but on an XX I would have change them.
  19. Did that to my first bike. Newbie and all with no experience of bikes. First time I glanced at the chain it was red with rust It didn't help much with lubricating after that.....
  20. Last set I changed lasted about 45 000 km or 27 000 miles.
  21. I don't wait. I start the car, and drive when it runs smooth. Cold at low RPM's ( idle) the oil pressure isn't that good to the top, and the head might not get the best lubricant. But don't push the pedal to the metal to get it hotter
  22. Daym. A lot of members in here with extras laying around. Good luck
  23. +1 Waste of money. I live in a cold climate and we don't do it.
