  1. I’m selling my 1997 CBR 1100XX and I am thinking of selling the "Corbin Gunfighter seat", with the Lady backrest for the seat separte from the bike. The seat has had my butt in it for years, but it's in good shape with no rips or tears, and the lady backrest has only been used a few times and is in new condition. If you would like to trade up, I will need your original seat (to put back on my bike so I can trade my bike in) and $200.00. O.B.O. I'm in Wisconsin. Matt
  2. I listed my XX on Craigslist today. http://lacrosse.craigslist.org/mcy/2313609270.html
  3. The price is at the buttom of the post. And the pic was taken on the last ride in Oct. before it was parked that day in the garage for the winter.
  4. I’m selling my black 1997 CBR 1100XX. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the bike. The bike has never been dropped or downed, and the only abuse has been from me speeding occasionally The history of the cycle; It was bought new in 1997 by a chiropractor who in the 5 years only managed to put 1844 miles on it. In 2002 he bought a Gold Wing to add to his collection of cycles and I was lucky enough to find the XX the day he was dropping it off at the local Honda store to sell on consignment for him. When I saw how perfect & new condition the cycle was, I went right to the bank picked it up that day. Now with 42,310 miles on the "XX,"€it is still in great condition and has never let me down once. I have all the maintenance records and receipts, and the bike has ALWAYS been kept in the garage when not in use. The only reason I'm selling is because 99% of my riding anymore is with the wife on the back with me and I would like to get something with a little less lean on my old arms… For shipping, I'm in Wisconsin. Mods/Farkles: Corbin Gunfighter seat, with Lady backrest for seat (new was $520.00) Two Brothers dual carbon fiber shotgun exhaust (new was $1000.00) VFR handles bar riser. Improved/bigger Givi windshield Honda Tech installed K&N jet kit when it was bought new. New tires, chain, and front brake pads installed last summer at 39,600 miles. And a few other odds & ends... $3550.00 and it yours.
  5. I had the honda shop up in LaCrosse flush all the fluids out of the entire bike two summers ago. I'm sure i'll see you Sat. then, & I'll keep the radar gun turned off
  6. It's just making the "sound" of boiling water inside the radiator overflow reservoir under the seat. I have not ever seen any leaks, of any kind, knock on wood. when I get more time I will try "burping the system" like cbrxxquad said to try & add some more coolant. Rich I hope you all have a safe ride & no tickets :icon_pray:
  7. Took a ride yesterday on my beloved 97 XX before work, (just a normal ride) and at the end of an hour ride I parked my baby in the garage and started to walk away. BUT then I heard a boiling sound, it was loud. It sounded like the (boiling water) sounds were coming from the entire left side of the bike motor area. I took off the seat and the plastic reservres under the seat was even shaking like it was boiling inside a little. I just took a look at the "plastic reservres under the seat " and it looks to have fluild in it up to the first lower tick mark. I have never heard anything like that before, so can anybody sit my mind at ease. Thanks
  8. I have a 1997 XX with over 36,000 miles on it and have never touched any bulbs on my bike yet... Maybe I'm just real lucky...
  9. The shotgun sounds great, but after having them on for five years I'll trade them for some quiet stocks in really good shape... anybody...
  10. I have a 97 with the Two Brother shotgun exhaust, it sound great but just to damm loud for where I live & what I do for a living... I bought the bike with only 1300 miles on it & the guy before me paid $1100 for it so i couldn't at the time see taking them off. But times have changed and I would rather be in stealth mode when I'm flying into town... So how much for the "perfect exhaust" or would you consider a trade?
  11. I read this thread because I'm going to buy a new battery now, before the season starts (even if the weather man just said were getting 6-10 inches of snow) Whats a good price ? Were's a good place get one? Just to let you know when I parked the XX for the the winter I had 34,000mi on my 97 with the original battery still in it... I guess I have been pertty lucky for a change
  12. Hey Dave, can I borrow $9000.00, please... By-the-way I hate the the pic of the red-gray-flame thing... Stick with the cool blue and save your money...
  13. WOW, I feel real lucky then, I have a 97XX with 32,100 :icon_clap: on it and have not even touched the factor battery one time. But after reading this thread I'll order a new one for Spring just to be safe. Where's a good place to buy one, & how much? anybody.
  14. Does anyone have a link on were to get the Vista throttle-lock so that I"ll be ready for Summer
  15. Hey John01XX I went to your website and didn't see the Vista Cruise throttle lock. I would like to get something to hold the trottle open.
  16. Where's a good place to go (on the internet) to get an oil filter, the wrench, and a few other little parts for the XX?
  17. I WISH THAT I WOULD HAVE SAW THIS POST, BEFORE I HAD ORDERED FROM THEM, YES THEY DO SUCK :!:
  18. Today I went to four different gas station before I found one that had karosene. I have Monday off, and will try it out along with a oil change. I do not have a nylon bristle brush, I was planning on just using an old tooth brush.
  19. Well Spring is coming even if it did snow this a.m. here in Wisconsin (I hope!!!) I have been detailing my bike the past couple of days, and I remember reading that karosene was the way to go to get the chain cleaned? Can anybody point me in the right direction.
