    Mobil 1

Fwiw, my first experiance with Mobil1 cemented my opinion of mobil1 forever. In 1987, I bought an 86 1000 Ninja with 2300 miles on it. Read the reports and began using Mobil1. It was quiet and shifted smoother that before. I ran the shit out of that bike. Young and fearless doing block long burnouts and smoke the tire untill it blows. Kept that soldier along side the 1998XX untill 2005. The bike was that good. The Ninja had reports of lube failure of the cam train. I was aware of this and did regular (8-10K ) valve train adjustment and inspection. When I sold the bike to a freind, I did one last valve adjustment and inspection. Zero pitting and I felt confident of my use of Mobil1. All my vehichles get mobile1. I bowled league with a Northwest Representitve of Moble. I told him that I changed my oil on my bikes @3k and 5k on cars. He said that he had a Ford PU with a 360 and a camper that he monitored oil analysis. (Somewhere near 40K mile.) Can't remember, Just thought it was incredible. He said I was changing my oil way too soon. Hmmmm. I am successful so far and will continue my regiment.
  5. Good news. Mine does not have a carrier. Thanks for the info.
  6. Hank, that is why I want to talk to Matt. Copy yours. Bearing stack is questionable with the Carro wheels. Correct me if I am wrong but the original Carro spacers are not entirely correct and made out of aluminum. I know you had it figured out to the .001. It really is important I have the correct length to get the bearing stack right. I get it. Carrozzeria did not get it right. that is why they only spec'd axle tourque to 34lbs. Aluminum will not survive.. Agree? I know you figured this out. If I had the spec lenghts, I can also. I plan to do SS also.I even have a piece for a lathe.
  7. Thanks for the info. Hope Matt is well and no one is shooting at him. I will check with Joe to see if he has the Carrozzeria spacers. Thanks again.
  8. I think this is only true of the front wheel? Someone, please correct me if wrong? Tim #2 dibs. Ever hear from Sean these days? I followed Hanks link to the .com site and he mentioned Matt in Texas now has his Turbo XX. Anyone know Matt in Texas? He could be here but I don't know his screen name? Would really like to talk to him.
  9. Not ready yet. You have first dibs.
  10. FTM raised a topic I have long forgotten about. Carrozzeria wheels. I have a used set off of Hobi's XX I never successfully mounted. I don't have the spacers and the confidence to figure it out. If you have a 96-98XX with Carrozzeria (ZX12) wheels from the group buy of years ago and are due for a tire change, I will pay you $25 and one reacharound to take the time to accurately measure ( plus or minus .001 ) the (2) front and (2) rear spacers. ID, OD and length. edit-- What I think - ID is easy, copy the stockers. OD kinda easy -- seal ID plus a thou or two. Length - Critical ! Length is what I really need. I have been told the 99 and up front spacers are differant from 98 ? Please write yourself a note to measure during your next tire swap.
  11. IIRC, the Carrozzeria wheels fitted to the XX are actually ZX12.
  12. He got his asking price. The buyer paid for an inspection. Somebody bought a nice boat.
  13. It really is like new with 40 hours. Last summer it pulled my fat ass up on ski's with authority. Comfy family type boat. I know little about boats. I just know this one is like new. Edit: These pics were taken less tha a week ago. One more edit. If you were at the 2004 XX meet in Bend Oregon, you may have met Niel. He was riding the CBR1000F. https://eugene.craigslist.org/boa/d/2007-bayliner-195-br-special/6544010281.html
  14. I looked at those some 7-8 years ago. IIRC, they where twice that many $$$. They really are the best imho. Would like to have one. Hard to justify these days.
  15. Joe, thank you for the parts. They look fantastic. I sent the payment by PayPal and I would feel better if you confirmed it. Been a while since I have used PP and don't trust my fat fingers. Please respond.
  16. Alan, I should have checked it first. Is there something I can do about my account?

    Sorry, there is a problem

The page you are trying to access is not available for your account.

Weird.  I just checked, and both links work for me, but I am a moderator, so maybe something is set differently for me.

Try these links: Shop Manual and Parts Manual

I was able to download both the pdf's.

Perhaps a moderators access is granted?

Thanks for your effort Alan. It seems I can't win. LOL Both of my XX's are 1998. (carb'd)  I saved  both pdf's because My riding buddy Jeff has a 99. Thanks

  17. Thanks for posting the Shop and Parts manuals.

  18. John has helped me many times. Service doesn't get any better than Johns Bike Bits.
  19. We should meet at Mystics on 205 and discuss the mountains and valleys in view.
  20. I have ridden it. It goes like hell. Steve has always been elusive revealing exactly what has been done to it. It has more than just a tuneup by EDR Performance. I think he should tell the whole story. edit: yeah what did you buy?
  21. Dave, any good Auto parts store should have this general purpose relay. It's a 5 pin (1no/1nc) 12v coil rated at 30 amps. Also has mounting tab. It has resistor coil suppression. The coil draws current in the Ma range. I have successfully used many of these with 24vdc coil. Never damaged a controller. Just saying. Bocsh # 0 332 019 150 just for example -- http://www.texasindustrialelectric.com/relays_0332209150.asp
