  1. I am so effing pissed, I mean royally, I was in my garage moving some crap around, my factory seat was on the bench minding it's own ass, my custom seat on the bike. Well something fell and poked a hole in my factory seat and I am looking for advise on a fix, or how to approach this shitty little issue...

    Thanks folks

  2. Its pointless for us in that the thermal exchange of the exhaust header is sufficient enough that Honda engineering did not require the manifold be wrapped or any other type of barrier to keep the heat in the assembly for emission or otherwise. Wrapping an exhaust is generally done when the engine and pipes don't get hot enough and subsequently you end up with moisture under the wrap resulting in rust to the pipe in places that you wish it hadn't. If you listen to our bikes idle it's an off beat non consistent "I just want to YELL!!" tone. Our engines were for the most part a racing engine. However check this out...

So, in light of this. I say pointless for us to do.

Now if you really want to improve the manifold, send it out and have it ceramic coated.

  3. Guys, i am stumped, i have even replaced the little connectors behind the light between the harness and the bulb. i am Effing stumped. My output with the engine running is 14.03 battery charged and i don't know what else 21k on the bike, the headlight relay is working. Any ideas???

    Jet..

Now i put a pair of plain old phillips H7's in and they lasted 15 minutes, so here we go....last thing that changed on the bike before I started having issues was the battery, so back to S1, new battery, new headlights then we will see. I sure hope the RR is not bad..

Is that the output over the entire rev range, or at idle?? Make a measurement from idle all the way up to 6k or more, tell us what it does.

If you can blow two bulbs in 15 minutes, it is hard to believe that your RR is working properly. Failure to regulate can be caused by the RR being bad, or by a poor connection.

It will transition from 13.8 to 14.03 from idle to 6k I am going to swap in a R/R and see what it does, i have a spare but it will really piss me off that the RR is bad.

  4. Touching the bulb can leave fingerprints that will etch & cause the glas to fail in time, but if it just the filament burning out, fingers aren't the cause. I had several expensive bulbs go & went back to fairly plain ones that lasted ok. They just couldn't take the bike vibration. Now with HID, all is good in the world. :D

  5. What brand of headlights are you using ?

I`m asking because 3-4 years ago I went thru similar experience,it all stopped once I found old school plain white Phillips made,I think, bulbs.

That's what i am going to install next. Just 2 plain jane h7 bulbs.

  7. Yea have one-I'm tall too. Better than double bubble.

I have it set at max all the time

There is another one with a flip at the top but no adjustment which I would like to try buy

    can't justify expense.

They warn not to adjust while in motion. I agree ! ! ! !

I had a Zero G touring on mine but still got blasted, i just put a cheap bubble on it to try out but i think i will end up with a Vairo Touring.

  8. There's a tab on the internal bar weight that indexes into a hole in the bar to keep them from spinning. If you torque hard enough on them you'll bust that tab loose and they'll always spin.

Only solution I can think of is to either replace the OEM internal weight (not sure how you'd do that, I've never done it) or just pull the OEM stuff out and use a set of aftermarket bar ends that have their own mounting system (expanding rubber plug, ect.)

    Copy that....

  9. Can you pull them off without unscrewing them? That means you stripped the threads.

Is it that no matter how tight you make them they still are loose? Maybe the bolts are too long and are hitting something before you finish tightening them.

Is it that no matter what you try, the bolts don't seem to get tighter and they fall right off? The bolts are too short.

I have no clue other than those gems.

They spin in the barrel of the bar.

    pisses me off

  10. Guys, i am getting a small whiff of fuel every now and then, anybody have any ideas? I am a little concerned especially when my son noticed it other than that the bike runs great, on the freeway 75mph at 4k with the #18 front sprocket. Thanks.

  11. how big of a differance does the 6mm spacer on the rear shock make?

Best bang for your buck to the point you will NOT regret it, i put one in and it is awesome.

    Jet

  12. So far i am getting between 37 and 44 mpg and the 44 is if i ride conservativley and i cruise on the freeway at 70-75, i have a 23 mile commute each way and i can do it 5 days a week on one tank. But i have to be "good".

  13. Overpriced? Like a Ruth's Chris steak

Any steak that's brought to your table sizzling in a pool of butter can't be overpriced!

That's the point I was trying to make.

    Vista Cruise = Bonanza

    Throttlemeister = Ruth's

    Same purpose, cruise.....fill a hole and make a turd...LOL

    Jet

  14. my vista cruise works super. love it.

    but what a hassle installing.

took about an hour with tinkering.

i drilled a hole and installed a screw in the plastic to make it solid.

did the same for my daughters 600zzr, and she loves it.

my 12r buddy saw it and did the same.

    That's the method i used, it's great.
