  1. Ok before I get in over my head everyone says its easy to change the fork springs. I have a shop automatic erre I mean Manual thanks Rocketmeupto125. But like always I am sure there is an easy way to do it. You guys made changing plugs a SNAP!!!! err well other than getting the suckers outa that deep hole heheh. So anyone want to list the steps in doing a fork spring change. I went with the Taxxion 1.1 springs and they will be here next week. I have 8K on the bike should I change the oil while I am in there ? As always Thanks again.
  2. I suggest you check out the sticky at the top of the page called Not Automatic. You need to remove a bolt in the water pump cover and then one for the cylender head. It looks like there is not one on the acutal radator.
  3. well knock on wood looks like I have a good shot at a free replacement talked to Avon and parts411.com today and both said no problem. I am visiting them today with the bike so they can check use and fill out the claim form So I will know soon!
  4. Ah well at least its a start avon calling ehehheh this is there email back to me John, Thanks for your e-mail. I will pass your enquiry concerning the operation of our Road Hazard warranty to our North American sales office who will contact you with the details you need. Best regards Clive Jones Inta-Moto Ltd. Tel +44 [0] 1249 705916 GSM 07787 501511 e-mail clive@intamoto.com
  5. Ya I emailed the place I bought it and also the contact person listed on the avon site its at least a chance to save the 150 bucks
  6. WoW found there webpage and it says the first MM is covered with a roadhazard Warentee now I just have to find out how to collect on it
  7. The only hard part of removing the rubber for me would be re balance of it after I get it back on the rim. If I just mark the rim and tire will it be close enough ? or will the weight of the patch and glue throw off the ballance ?
  8. Well I opted for the 1.1 and traxxsion said no problems on a return if they are to stiff. So We shall see Ok any tips on replacing the fork springs I have never opened up the forks on anything.
  9. Well it could be worse at least I got a little over 700 miles on the avons before a flipping nail decided it wanted to fuck my rear! And ya I mean rear tire you pervs! So I get to work and see the big shinny nail stuck in my tire and think Well its in the thickest part and right in the center of the tire is it my lucky day. Get some pliers and PULLLL HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Nope not my lucky day So I hit up napa autoparts and plug it. So is it safe to use like this ? I dont do triple digets very often and now with the plug doubt I do at all. I know the best plan of action would be a new tire but damn flushing 150 down the drain sucks! So other than a new tire should I remove tire patch the inside. Run the plug and forget about it? Put a tube in it ? is a tube an option ? Thanks again
  10. I suggest you use a much stiffer spring than that. We don't follow RT's chart. We have 1.0s in stock, and 1.10s. We can set you up with one of each spring for a combined rate of 1.05. This would be much better. To be honest, I would suggest you consider the 1.10s. How much does that bike weigh wet? this is there answer to my asking about a 1.0 spring
  11. Hummm they emailed me and said with my weight and weight of bike I should go with a 1.10 spring ??? any comments ? or they said if I understood right go with 1 at 1.10 and the other at 1.0 so it combines to 1.05 spring rate ?
  12. Thanks for the advice the Traxxion 1kg springs are on the way
  13. Front Shock Springs Ok I am going to splurge on some front shock springs. I weigh in at 230 but am losing I plan to be down to 220 within 2 months. The RT website shows I should use a 1.051 spring. They are out of stock and have been told by the supplyer for the last 3 months we will have some next month. And they just keep getting told next month. So I was wondering should I wait or should I go with the .95 springs they have in stock ? I am totaly cluless about spring rates shocks and even how to instlall them but my riding buddy has installed them and says its a peice of cake. Thanks for your info
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2417191409 1995 Honda cbr900rr cbr 900 rr tc fox shock I thought I read somewere that the 95 shock was the same ? or does it have to be sent out and re valved for the extra weight. I assume you would have to change the spring also right.
  15. I ordered my front/rear on thursday from parts411.com and drove down and picked them up the next day and they did not have them in stock on Thursday
  16. Yep I agree have almost 300 miles on them now and all I can say is I am in LOVE! hehehe I would have never dreamed tires made that big oif a differance. Not saying they are the best because all I have used are stockers but for me they can do way more than I can just like the bike.
  17. check the modifications page on the main website here it even has part numbers.
  18. Well it was the long weekend so no traffic but lane splitting at 80+ is no problem. We went up to Mt. Baldy up to the ski lifts talk about some HAIR pins DAMN!!!!! To much traffic in the mountains to have any real fun but as always it was a great ride. No one was hurt and no bikes put the shiney side down. I duno if my old front was cupped but the avons are WAY quieter and as far as the rain slits on the freeways you can feel them and they do put some feedback into the bars but I did not notice them actualy pulling me around. So far I have not noticed the extra noise or roughness at slow speeds. They are 100% better than the old stock tires and I am happy as can be with them.
  19. I got about 40 easy miles on Sat Was planning on alot more today but it was well I am embarassed to call it rain but so far all morning its been overcast and misting. I am not to keen on the California drivers when the roads are wet sooooooo I am waiting it out till the after noon . I will say from the short ride if you even put a little pressure on the bars the bike wants to start turning and it definatly feels more responsive. I did not notice any extra road noise but I was riding with my bro in law and he was on my vtx with Jardine Drag pipes. DAMN that thing is LOUD!!!!!!!! heheh its not bad when you are driving it but I let him get in front and well it made my old bird with D&D slip ons sound like a stock black bird heheh. No wonder my neighbors hate me. I was in the house and he pulled up the windows started to vibrate and the ground was vibrating. I leave for work at 5 am now if I take the vtx I will really feel bad.
  20. D> hookers I would say its as tight as a 16 year old but that would not be leagal
  21. Ya I have thought about doing it and I do all the normal maintance things on the bike and have had a few HiPo cars that I have done alot of work to. Lowered,Fully automatic N20 system exausts brakes blah blah blah its just a bit more intimidating knowing if you mess it up you could DIE heheh. But then again do I trust some shop monkey more than myself.
  22. I will let you know I am always between lanes 1 and 2
  23. ya you need it Its great reading
  24. thanks That is kind of why I went with 40/40 from what I have read most go from 36/38 42/42 so I figure 40/40 is mid
