  1. Item Part number Price Air filter, 99-01 17210-MAT-E01 Air filter, 97-98 17210-MAT-000 Thats the numbers posted on the main page here under common service parts
  2. As easy as it is just swing by and I will throw them in I just have to figure out the sag rate and ajust from there I found the info on the UK site http://www.superblackbird.org/forum/showth...=&threadid=2597
  3. Thanks for the bike falling over tip hehe. I ended up blocking the engine and doing 1 spring at a time. Other than having to cut the spacer it took all of 20 minutes to change. I did not check the sag yet but it rides WAY better!!!!! I ended up cutting the shim so that the 1.1 traxxion spring is exactly the same length as the stock spring and spacer. The best part so far is the front dont bouce up and down from the fucked up SO cal freeways. Well I shoudl say it removed 80 % of it on my usual route. And It is nice that when you put on the brakes it dont drop 12 inches hehehe. It does still drop some but that is expected when you are stopping 800 lbs. I am going to be checking the sag this weekend. Any hard numbers for what it should be I think I saw them on the UK board I am going to search over there. For anyone wanting to do it The basics are Put the bike on the center stand use a floor jack and get the front tire in the air and block it up. I did one side at a time. Removed clutch resovur and ziptied it to the bars to hold it upright. Got a 15/16 socket and extention and loosend the top fork nut. It will not come all the way off when it gets all the way loose pull up on it the Dampning rod is still hooked to it. Put a 14 or was it 15 mm open end wrench on the nut at the top of the dampner rod. Then use the 15/16 socket to loosen the fork cap from the rod. Set the cap off to the side. Pull out the shim its going to drip oil so have a rag ready. I used a wire hanger to reach down into the tube and grab hold of the spring its down in there 6-8 inches. There is a washer on the top of the spring to protect it from the shim I removed it and used it between the new spring and shim. Ths spring will have oil on it also. I then set the Shim stock spring and washer on the work bench and measured the overal lenght. Cut off a pice of the new aluminum shim to make the New spring and shim the same size as the old one. I debured the new shim and cleaned it with acitone also cleanded the new spring. Let them dry and dropped the spring in dropped the washer in then dropped the shim in. Connected the rod back to the cap and reinstalled it. The other side is exactly the same. The one thing to watch is when you remove the cap from the rod dont let the 14 mm nut turn or it can change the length of your dampning rod. I would rate this one of the best 100 bucks I have ever spent on mods.
  4. Ok last chance to keep me from making a stupid newbie error My fork springs should be here today they are about 20 miles from the delevery point I assume I just need to put it on the center stand raise the front tire off the ground ? do I need to do that ? remove clip ons, remove fork tube caps, Remove springs, mesure lenght of springs, cut spacers to make new springs the same lenght as the old springs, intstall springs and spacers, replace caps, Mesure sag, reopen adjust shims, closer mesure sag, Reopen cut shims hhehehe hope not to many times, lower center stand and go ride the crap out of it. did I miss anything. and what should the sag be in the front I found an article that explains mesureing it.
  5. I just switched to the K&N and I did not feel a loss or a gain but I did not dyno it so itcant be much. Now on some vehicles it makes a BIG differance. The only good thing about the k&N is its the last filter you will have to buy for the bird. I think D> will make the most differance hehehe
  6. Will do I opted to go with Traxxion over the racetec and went with a 1.1 over the 1.0 most people are going with. We will see what happens hehehe.
  7. I am around Waiting for the big brown truck Friday to bring me my new fork springs. Hope its as easy to install them as eveyrone says.
  8. ya but the air tools were at the shop and the bike was minus the rear tire in the home garage. I would have had to drive to work 1.5 miles unlock unset alartm get tools reset alarm lock up drive home. work on bike then do it all over to take the tools back .
  9. I did the canada then Ca thing my computer printed recipt shows 0 shipping charges but they charged my CC the 5 bucks for shipping anyways. I know its an easy fight to win but the time it takes to call be put on hold anda wait on a long distance call just is not worth it. I guess I could send an email heheh. But even at 20 I am not complaing.
  10. there is one for sale in the for sale section of the board. If you get one from corbin be ready to get screwed by there crapy customer service. And they will tell you Oh ya you will have it next week for about 3 months. or you can try Ebay they have been poping up regularly now that I bought one hehehe.
  11. Well its a very well stocked mom and pop motorcycle shop in Montclair Ca. They have great service and stock lots of parts and Vanson leathers. If you are local and need a part give them a shot. 909 590-9192
  12. I got lucky and Cycle rider had one in stock a sprocket specialty. They said it must be the stock size for another honda or they would not have had it. Its about 5 minutes from my house. They have an AWSOME supply of parts in stock. They also had the tire spoons for putting my rubber back on. I went to several tool places and Sears autoparts No one had them . Thought I would have to order online. Also Cycle rider has good prices very competitvie with internet sites.
  13. As far as I am concerned Parts411.com is a great company to do buisness with. I purchased a avon rear from them and 2 weeks and 550 miles latter I got a nail in it. After they verified Avon had a no hastle road hazard warentee they ordered me a replacement and I got to keep the plugged avon till the new one came in. To bad I had to surrender the bad one or I could have had some kewl burnout pics hehehe. they were very on top of keeping in contact and returning calls and I want to give out some extra Kudos to Shantal hope thats how its spelled She was very friendly and profesional. In the next week or so they will be getting an order for my rear ohlins shock and spring.
  14. Well I am now toothless errr well 1 tooth less in the front that is. 1/2 hour to install was a bitch to lossen the bolt holding the sprocket seeing as I had no rear tire to hold the chain. Also got my warented avon today so I get to try out my skills putting the rubber back on the rim Wednesday.
  15. thanks guys I just had my rear off and thought it would be easy to do never have messed with the front before but seeing as my tire will not be in till Wednesday and my 1.1 springs till friday looks like I have Tues free heheh.
  16. so if I go down 1 in the front can I keep the same chain ? or is it wise to change both at the same time ?
  17. The stock rear is 45 tooth right ? If I go to a 47 tooth rear do I need to replace my chain ? it has 8K on it but looks in good shape and is closer to the new mark than the middle of the green. The stock sprocket does not have any hooking to it. Does vortex make a good sprocket ?
  18. Die grinder with a carbide cutter on it cut it out and replaced with a peice of plexi glass
  19. http://dave.antiflux.org/bird/windscreen/ Check out that site The best part is you can or could get it at 15 bucks new from the distibuter. Duno if its still that cheep or how many they have sold but its worth a shot. They ended up charging me shipping so my screen was 20 I should have complained but I am lazy and its a long distance call so by the time I was on hold for 45 minutes it would have used most of it up heheheh. It looks exactly like the one on my bike now and I am happy with it.
  20. scubajohn

    bt020 psi

Well at one time I was running what I thought was 40psi .The handling was crap I found out my tire pressure gage was off . I think by 12 lbs. So you might want to check the pressure with a different guage and see if its accurate.
  21. Wow they copied Warchilds Light mounts err well almost same Idea.
  22. Most of the time you will have to add inline resistors to get the blinking to calm down. As far as what size sorry no clue.
  23. no hurry I have till the end of next week for the parts to get here The traxxion site has some details I was checking out.
  24. Umm My mom always tells me to pull up my pants due to sag :) So what is the correct sag and how do you go about setting it ? let me guess this is a whole new can of worms. Should I just let someone that knows whats up install the springs and set the sag ? or is it something a mear mortal can do ? I am fairly handy with tools or at least I think so hehehe. have done all kinds of mods to cars. But the bike is a new beast. At least with the cars you have 4 contact points with the road so if you mess one up you have 3 left. hummm lets see what Search brings up
