  1. EDIT: Start I recently ordered an SW-Motec rack from this vendor. It arrived promptly, well packed and with good communication from the vendor. :icon_clap: I think they are working hard to prevent experiences like I had earlier from happening to anyone else. Give them a try. EDIT: End I ordered this MRA VarioTouringScreen from twistedthrottle.com, for my CBR1100XX, and noted this was the model that I rode in the comments for the order. Imagine my suprise when I got this (special order 3 weeks + to get) screen delivered that was for the CBR1000F 93-03. NO, it didn't fit on the XX I was even MORE suprised that the customer support rep at twistedthrottle.com was completely unsympathetic, and literally said, "At this time, we will not be able to accept your windscreen for a return. However, try selling it on one of the Honda bike forums. There are plenty of guys that are looking to grab one of those. Have a nice day" OUCH!!!! Customer Service? Seems more like customer shrug-off. Despite asking nicely to consider that I should have been warned that ordering a CBR1000F screen does not jibe with owning a XX, the best offer I got in return was "we will take back the windscreen at a 50% restocking fee, with you covering the cost of shipping." Double OUCH! I was and am really suprised that this retailer was sticking this too me so badly. Not at all what I expected. Oh, well - first and LAST order for them from me. So there you have it, I have a NEW, uninstalled MRA VarioTouringScreen for the Honda CBR1000F 93-2003 that I need to get rid of (see for sale forums). Link for details on the product: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/1272/354/ Part no: MRA.01.046.VT Smoked Grey Version It cost me three weeks, $139.99 plus $16.41 shipping. Yes, they sent a confirmation email when ordered, it looked like (it was exactly less the bold) this: Shipping type: UPS Ground Comment: 1999 CBR1100XX The items you have ordered: Prod. No. Product name Price Qty. Total without sales tax -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MRA.01.046.VT MRA VarioTouringScre $139.99 1 $139.99 Color: 1-Smoke gray Stebel.11135 Stebel Nautilus Comp $35.95 1 $35.95 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subtotal $175.94 Shipping and handling $16.41 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total $192.35 Did I order the wrong thing? Absolutely. I must have clicked one link too high when I placed the order and selected the CBR1000F instead of the almighty CBR1100XX. Did this confirmation message help me be sure that I ordered the right thing? Well, yes and no I suppose. You can see that I indicated the part was for the 1999 CBR1100XX. And I can tell from the message that I ordered a MRA VarioTouringScreen. But I cannot tell that this is the wrong part number, I would have had to reference this number back to the site and checked it out. And since the email is all text, there was no link to click on to confirm the precise part that was ordered. So shame on me and shame on them. The real shocker was the support after the sale, I quoted that verbatim earlier. So I am stuck with this screen unless I want to sell it back to them at 50 cents on the dollar, and pay to ship it as well :icon_wall:
  2. Considering this mod now and appreciate all the issues "raised". my 30 inch inseem means I might be having a bit of trouble pedaling the bike around the garage...
  3. Good point. I have noticed that on my '99, if I startup with HB on, the low beam flickers a bit unitl warmed up. I suspect a voltage drop firing them both up at idle. Seems fine with HB off and then on after 15 secs as you noted.
  4. I used the packing foam that was included to secure them and it worked like a charm. Provides a decent weatherproof seal to boot.
  5. Put mine in on Saturday after pacing an 80 mile bike race with a 6' 1' 200lb photographer on the back (XX worked great). Lights are Excellent and I now need to aim them property. Was able to attach the e-boxes to the headlight and snorkles with double sided tape only (the nice Wurth Automotive stuff) and the install is pretty clean and easy to reverse. Very happy!
  6. I really think they look great too, but I have a bunch of other things that $80 would be better spent on (all for the XX of course..) At $40, I would be all over them.
  7. Just got my kit from the Far East - looks great! Warchild, thanks for the detailed pics, that is a big help.

  9. I'm also interested...
  10. What year XX are you going to try these on?
  11. That looks good for the rear turn signal, doesn't it? Is that an 1157? Wonder if this causes the fast blinking?
  12. Just did an updated cam tensioner install on my '99 over lunch (10 minute job that took 30 thanks to a stripped allen head that required a left handed drill bit). This should eliminate a marbles in the coffee can sound on startup, I sounded good once under way. Got to see under the covers a bit, there is some neat stuff there! First time taking off the fairing, pretty straightforward job. Now to get that R1 regulator...
  13. Yeah, I thought you might say that I have Beetles on the bike now, and without the signals it looks rather.... strange. I'l pose the question to the UFO guys and post the answer here for the group.
  14. rockmeup - did you do anything with the stock turn signals or remove them? I like this UFO Light and would also want to keep the stock t/s with LED's installed in them.
  15. I ordered one of these from TT a few days ago, 2-3 week special order - will report on the install and impressions when it arrives!
  16. Has anyone tried one of these? Stebel Nautilus Compact Dual-Tone 12-Volt Air Horn, 139 dB (twistedthrottle.com for $35.95) http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/2137/ I ordered one, so I'll let you know how it works out...
  17. Looks great! I'll look forward to the next installment with the CNC'd and anodized custom mount I assume the Tom-Tom comes off quickly for theft prevention. Curious where you put the antenna, is that integrated into the display unit?
  18. I'm signing on as well...
  19. Love to see a pic of the VFR bars on the XX. Are they easy to get?
  20. You can add me as another Bucks County guy. In Solebury just outside New Hope.
