Just bought the vfr bars. Do the bird internal weights and counter weights work w/these bars or do i need to buy all the weights?

John- thanks, i was bidding on those last night but got out bid. I've been checking everything vfr i can. The bars are hard to come by. I won't be a NEXXT this year but I'm doing Arizona-grand canyon and New Mexico July 21st. thanks guys -skull i'll keep yours in mind

I WAS USING A CHEAP HARBOR FREIGHT FLOAT CHARGER- IT'S SUPPOSED TO SHUT OFF WHEN IT'S FULLY CHARGED. I BOUGHT THE BATTERY TENDER JUNIOR AS SUGGESTED.

THANK YOU- Got new gel battery charged plugged her in and the bird fired right up. riding tonight but everything seems okay no damage done. still nedd to test that charging system

THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE HELP! The battery is a kragen.k special. It was sitting with a harbor freight battery tender. I threw the old battery away -awaiting a new AGM battery in the mail tmrw. I will check the fuse which i hope didn't blow. I hope for the bad connection thing and no stator issues. I'm thinking of charging the new battery and throwing on th e bike to see what happens- is that a bad idea? i can deal with the fuse but if the stator or anything else major needs replaced i'm screwed for now. The on line battery store tells me extreme heat is the cause of my battery issues. it does get 110 degrees in the summer here. not sure what to believe.

what do you think? I tried to go for a ride this morning and the bird would not start. The bike has been sitting for a month or so without being riding. I have had a battery tender on the bike the whole time. The battery is less then a year old. I jumped the bike and heard a pop. the bike started but soon as the jumper cables were taken off it died. That was the only shot i had. Lights nothing work and can't get it started. I realise i probbaly fried the battery but what other damage could have been done? Also, why are my batteries not lasting more then a year? THANKS- FOR ANY HELP-SCOTT

MY FRIEND BOUGHT A CLEAN 99 BIRD THAT SAT IN A WHAREHOUSE FOR 6+YEARS. THE BIKE HAD SEVEN HUNDRED MILES UPON PURCHASE. HE IS HAVING BAD BACK PROBLEMS AND SAYS THE BIRD HURTS HIM. I'M TRYING TO TALK HIM INTO NEW BARS BUT I THINK HE'S JUST GIVING UP. ANYWAY- 99' BIRD ALL STALK - NEWER MICHELIN ROADS, STOCK EVERYTHING ELSE- ALL FLUIDS AND EVERYTHING HAVE BEEN CHANGED. THIS BIRD IS CLEAN AND WILL BE UP FOR SALE SOON I THINK. HE WANTS TO GET $5500.00

thanks- john I'll get pics by tomorrow. The bike was taken apart to be checked and put back together perfect. The bike runs strong and I rode it from Florida to Towanda and back to CA. I found a killer deal on an 03' bird and I have six bikes in my garage now. I don't have the time or the ablility to put this one back together.

I NEED THE BACK GRAY PORTION ON A HEADLIGHT WITH THE TABS ON IT. WILL A 97 HEADLIGHT FIT A 2000XX.

EKASXX AND I JUST FIXED MY 2000 TI-BIRD. THE FI LIGHT WAS STAYING ON AFTER ABOUT FIVE MINUTES OF RIDING. I LOOKED UP THE PROBLEM ON THE UK-SUPER BLACKBIRD WEB-SITE. THERE ARE DETAILED PICTURES AND STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS. IT WAS AN EASY FIX THANKS TO JOHN'S HELP. JUST INFO IF ANYONE WITH A 99-00 IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.
