  1. Oh you aren't getting off that easy. What a tease. What was the question? We may have a better answer. Who likes pie?
  2. Did you use a fuel stabilizer in it?
  3. I believe I saw your bird at the All Clubs Meet in Stockbridge last year. If that was yours, it is as stated clean.
  4. That is a hell of a deal. If I had the cash they would be mine. Oh yes, they would be mine.
  5. +1 Mine do it occasionally when I first start the bike and apply the brake. The voltage to the brake light takes some from the HIDs.
  6. Whole bike for $1600. No affiliation, just found it. HERE
  7. Now if you are talking diesels I can add another layer. I drive an Isuzu NQR at work. I turn the idle knob all the way up before starting. If not, it barely runs until warm. It also has to idle at high so it stays warm. If it idles at low idle speed, the engine actually cools down. It is sucking in more cold air than fuel needed to idle. If I am at a stop for more than a few minutes, I shut it off so it does not cool down.
  8. When it is below twenty, I usually let my Focus warm up for 10 minutes or so. For a couple of reasons. It shifts very tightly when it is cold, manual transmission. I like a warm interior. Defrost windows. I have a warm engine to accelerate hard onto the main road. There is usually very little gap between cars. No slow pokes allowed.
  9. Got Christmas on the brain? I think you meant TENSILE strength. Of course TINSEL strength would relate to the bling factor...which is important to some. Actually, TINSEL strength was well documented in "The Santa Clause" movie. Cut right through steel.
  10. No, you are thinking of the I-ring chain.
  11. Ford Festiva may also be a candidate. You would probably have to do all your own fabricating though.
  12. 3500 miles at best????????? Wow, you must crank on the interstate. I usually get at least double that. Most of my riding is commuting to work. No more than 5 over. A few twisties thrown in here and there.
  13. Check, or have checked, your valve clearances.
  14. Sorry to hear of your loss. My condolences. Good luck with the task of taking care of the estate.
  15. Not a 90 deg. angle, but angled some. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/13/...Valve-Stem.aspx
  16. +1 That is the rig I use daily on my Bird. A Rhentech rack with a JC Whitney large top case. The plate mounts to the rack with two metal bars under the rack to clamp the plate down. Not as pretty as a Givi, but at a third the price I am not that picky.
  17. 38 miles as the crow flies. If this is legit, I'll give you 130 plus shipping. I already have the price listed, if I have to go through the hassle of shipping them. $250. I think the shipping will add about $45. If you want them, I will get them boxed and weighed. I'll give you a final. Send me a PM with contact info and you can have them. Payment must be through Paypal. I think you may have mis-read my quote. It was meant to read: "Toxic, if you check these out, and they are legit, I will offer you a $5 finders fee to buy them and ship them to me." That's all I was saying.
  18. All is running well. Even my tach is working well. Go figure. I just broke the connector apart and cleaned up the wires, soldered them together, heat shrink then electrical tape. So far so good. I guess it was just a corroded connector. Great to hear, that's exactly what I'm going to do with mine. Well, how's it coming? Did you fix the old girl up yet?

  20. I just received a set of 1.0kg/mm fork springs from Redbird. I am in the process of installing them and have two questions. #1 I removed the fork cap from the left fork. The cap came right off. It was not attached to the damper rod. I have no idea how long it has been like that. No wonder the front end was rough over bumps. Did this do damage to either of the dampers not having it attached to the cap? #2 The "new" springs are 1.5" longer than the stock ones. I can not get the cap screwed onto the damper rod. Do I have to cut the spacer tube down by 1.5" to compensate? TIA
