  1. Beautiful watch. I love Tags. I have three myself. Actually four, but one I lost the crown and I can not find a replacement, so it is a "parts" watch. If only I could justify getting one more...
  2. I am in the East Bay. If anyone is seriously interested in the bike I could swing by to check it out. The chain looks like shit for a bike with so few miles. I also wonder why they don't show a photo of the odometer. If the miles were truly that low it would be a huge selling point, but all photos of the dash are without power so no way to verify if the low miles are true or not. They mention the services done to get the bike ready for use, but no mention of replacing any seals. Rubber sitting in a "barn" for that long will be dry and brittle and will fail almost immediately.
  3. How old is the saddle? How many miles? Do you have any photos? Thanks
  4. Yep, it is my browser. I wonder what Edge updated that made this happen?? Oh well, at least I know it is not a site issue. Thanks again.
  5. Could be. I will try on Edge, no Beta, and see what happens. Thanks.
  6. This issue started happening recently for me. Never had it before, not sure why it started happening now. When I get to the last post on a page and I go to the next page I am taken to the bottom of the next page instead of the top. It happens if I use the "Next" button, or if I use the page number. It even happens when I go back a page. I use Edge as my browser. Actually Edge Beta, but as I said I never had this issue before. Anyone else seen this? Thanks.
  7. When I sold motorcycles years ago in the Bay Area we computed sales tax by the county in which the bike was to be registered. The shop was in Alameda County but if you lived in Contra Costa County you paid a different amount. We had one buyer from Nevada, I think, who paid no sales tax because there was none in the county he registered the bike. This was back in 2004, may have changed since then, I don't know.
  8. I am grateful for the offer, but my Bird is my daily ride and I needed it fixed ASAP. I am just happy I could get it done in a day. Your offer is yet another reason this board is the best! Thanks again.
  9. Thanks for the offer but I found one at the Berkeley bike shop. Less than $20. About to replace it now. I appreciate the help, it is actually a pretty easy procedure, even for a novice mechanic like me.
  10. It is a bad light switch. Let me know what ya' got. They seem to be fairly universal. Thanks.
  11. Thanks for the advice. I will have time to work on it later today and will let you know if anything worked. As always, I am grateful for the .org and the members willing to help. Still the best site on the net!
  12. I have an '02 Bird, and I noticed, quite by accident, that my brake light does not come on when I squeeze the handlebar brake. It does come on with the foot pedal. Any ideas? Fuse? Harness going bad? Beuhler?? Thanks.
  13. Hey, sorry I missed out, I completely forgot about this thread. I was out of town for about 7 weeks, my mother passed, so things slipped by. Sorry to not get the gloves but I am happy they found a good home.
  14. Hey Dave, I am a Held guy. Have worn "Steve's" forever, and have a pair of Phantom's as well. Never really seen the Rodney, how long is the gauntlet? Are they totally vented on the top as well? I will offer you $60 for them. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
  15. No, I forgot to take them. But two of the bars broke right in the middle. Strong pipe that Two Brothers makes!
  16. Yeah, I got my deposit back, no problem. I needed to open the pipe .25 inches, I got maybe 3mm. I was wondering today if it might have been easier if I ran the bike after removing the muffler to heat up the pipe. Know it would have been LOUD while warming up but may have worked better. Oh well, off to look for a gasket...
  17. So, I borrowed the pipe expander from an O'Reilly's near me. It kind of worked. Ended up breaking two of the bars on the expander. Whoops. Gonna look for a gasket.
  18. Thanks. I will give it a try.
  19. When I bought my Bird the previous owner had installed a Four Brothers 4 into 1 exhaust. I needed to replace the can and Four Brothers no longer makes a model that would fit. I ended up ordering a Yoshimura that works but does not quite fit. The issue is the neck of the muffler is bigger than the pipe going into it. I have struggled with how to seal it. I debated about getting a heat wrap but I do not want to go that route and have to cover the entire pipe. I have used aluminum foil around the pipe, and slid the can down onto it, and that works, but not for long. I have had to refit the foil a few times. I am wondering if there is something I can slide on the pipe that is angled, thicker at one end so the can will snug up against it, to fix this problem. I am grateful for the help. Thanks.
  20. I got this in 2013 at a benefit auction for $7500. It was valued at the time at $10,000. Financial issues are causing me to look to sell it. I believe the piece is currently valued in the $20,000 to $25,000 range, but not positive. I am open to reasonable offers. It is called "Spring" and it is derived from another work of hers, "Band of Brothers." It is called "bastard art" because it is many different mediums, lithography, painting, drawing, all covered in lacquer. It is 24" x 24" X 2". It is signed by the artist on the back, and there is a book of her art that comes with it.
  21. I don't think they were lying to me. The right light was not nearly as bright as the left light when not engaged as a turn signal. It was probably about half as bright as the left one. I have been taking my bike to this shop for over 10 years. They installed my Penske and my Race Tech front fork springs, as well as all tune ups. I have never felt like I was taken advantage of or given false information. My signal is working just fine now, they did not need to order new parts, so I am happy. And $80 was not that steep for me.
  22. Topic Update I replaced the left turn signal bulb and it worked perfectly. No problems. I decided that since I bought a package of two lights I would change the right bulb to make them consistent. Bad idea! After removing the mirror and putting the new bulb in the flashing element would not work. The bulb would be on for normal running but when I engaged the turn signal the front did not flash and the rear flashed really fast. I switched bulbs to see if that was the problem and it was not. Shit! Just got back from the shope, $80 to fix a loose ground wire in the right front turn signal. Lesson learned. With an "older" bike like my '02 Bird if it ain't broke don't fix it, change it, mess with it.
  23. Yeah, gonna get right on that...
  24. I did not think it was a dual filament, I thought it was a single filament. I probably have a spare bulb laying around, I will try that first. Thanks for the ideas.
