  1. They're sold :icon_needpics: :icon_needpics:
  2. My guess is that military applications don't need the range of illumination that civilian cars require, so the LEDs are more than adequate. Didn't the military use to mask off a good part of headlamps years ago for vehicles in the field? yeah they used to ride horses as well. the requirement for adequate lighting is still the same probably higher now, and there are still blackout lights on military vehicles, they stopped blacking out the headlights just after the Sherman tank was withdrawn.
  3. I have seen the full LED headlights on the HUMVEES and the HEMETT vehicles in Iraq. They had a weird lens that wasn't smooth, seemed to work great, at least better than what was previously on the HUMVEE. Clickey
  4. I sold the Superhawk, Pat, and planned on going to Atlanta tomorrow to buy the 'bird (I'd already contacted the seller of my intent). But then wifey goes ballistic/threatens divorce when she finds out, so now the whole deal is down the crapper. Well fuck me. Your wife wants you bikeless? That is not good. You can come up and ride mine anytime you want. I thought your divorced................
  5. so its $45.00 shipping @ a purchase price of $250. = $295. and $117.00 Ship and Handle @ a purchase price of @125.00 = $242.00 + $8.00 for paypal = $250.00 right I don't know new maths so I could have miscalculated? starting to look like a duck...........
  6. Wow I would have been stoked to have gotten my Bird repaired for $2600 I'm still waiting to get her back again as he went int to fix some of the fuckups the dealer did with the repairs BUT from what I can see, they have - Replaced the: Stator Cover LH Mirror Housing (AFAIK mirror and indicator etc was OK) LH Footpeg Assembly (heel guard/peg/rubber etc - the whole lot) LH exhaust can LH VFR bar Both HVMP Extra heavy bar ends. Repainted: Nose Cowl LH & RH Lower Cowls LH? (may be OEM Ti but looks like painted) & RH mirror housings Front Fender For that I think the quote to the insurer was ~$4600AUD The original quote they gave they included the RH exhaust can (not sure what else) and that would have been ~$5500AUD It was insured for $6600 and if they did the 1st quote would have written the bike off :icon_wall: Now I have had to take the bike back in because the dealer fucked up and a) put a std XX clipon on the LH side with the VFR on the RH side :icon_wall: Ordered in std bar ends not the HVMP ones :icon_nono: AND to top it off somehow managed to put 3 small dents in the front of the tank :icon_wall: It's all getting fixed BUT so far it has been over 3 months since the accident Fucking incompetent pricks you gotta wonder at the quality of work if they put on a std handle bar nexxt to a VFr one? did they not notice? they think you have one short arm? wtf..........you like turning in one direction?
  7. The easiest way, if your not that used to taking it apart is. Remove the two nearest (to the Tank) nuts and bolts on both sides of the windshield Remove the dash surrounds. This will reveal the bolts, plastic buttons that hold the inside of the lower cowl to the top cowl. Remove lower cowls, there are two of the Plastic buttons on each side behind the front wheel that join the cowl to the Vee Cowl. There are two more plastic buttons underneath where the two lower cowls come together. don't forget the bolt behind the side stand. There are two bolts at the bottom of the Vee cowl (accessible from the front of the bike) that are secured to the lower cowls There are two buttons on each side of the Vee cowl that secure the side cowls to it. Remove the two remaining dash / tank surrounds. There should be plastic buttons securing these to the frame. Remove the windshield, I am not sure if you have to do this, I always have. Be careful with the rubber nut holders on the windshield they are fuckers for getting lost. Remove the mirrors. The front cowl will be now be held on by the Mirror mounting points just slightly on one side pull the fairing away from this mount point and the cowl is free. Don't forget to unplug the Headlights before walking away with the Cowl. I think I remembered everything. good luck!!!! 2 cents mack

  11. I can send you a front axle for an '02. Are they the same? well they have different part numbers for carbed and FI bikes. so I guess they are different, anyway picked up a 97 off ebay will compare them side by side. thanxx anyway.
  12. thanxx Joe, confused I am, I know I will have to use the spacers for the appropiate wheel, 97 spacers with 97 wheel, I know that the FI front rotors are different shaped. The axle width is the same so how does this make the axle different? isn't it just the spacers? I will measure the 03 axle and compare...cheers
  13. I am putting a set of 97 rims onto an 03 I have the rotors squared away. I know the spacers are different. But why would the front axle be different?
  14. Want to Buy a front axle for a 97...............
  15. At what temp will the cooling fan on a 03' kick in?
  16. If the cable is still attached you will get a small space when the cowl is pulled back. the screw driver indicates the part on the seat latch mechanism, it will move pretty easily. Obviously mine has an after market tail. Hope this helps I can't remeber what the standard underseat looks like but the cable has very little free movement. Don't forget the electric cables. good luck.
  17. Yeah I've done this before its a PITA but not to difficult. The seat doesn't actually sit on the cowl. You only have to move it a small amount to get at the cable. I couldn't do it with the high mounts now so I have installed a cable tie that I can get to through the left rear vent on the rear cowl and use this to unlock the seat. 2 cents
  18. hey it is an older bike, 13 is old............
