  1. You know what? I figured that out when I was away from the computer, and was hoping to get back and edit it before anybody caught my moronic little question there. Guess not :???:
  2. How so? It doesn't seem like something that'd wear out. I'm curious as to how it may fail. BTW- my vote is for the Throttlemeister. Pricey but worth it, IMO.

    Diluted oil?

Maybe a stupid question, but why not just go with a PCII to correct your mixture issues?
  4. It'll steer a little quicker, a lot of guys (myself included) shim the rear for exactly this effect. Leave it be unless that's gonna be a problem
  5. Left passenger peg could be removed when fitting a 4-1 system, I think he wants to replace the right passenger peg with a plain exhaust hanger.

Sounds like more optimism to me- or have you been saving it in the fridge again?

    Brake lines

That sounds oddly familiar :poke:  On a serious note- what exactly did you replace? Reason I ask is I have the entire system (including secondary master cylinder and proportioning valve, which are prusumably still on your bike) weighing in at 3lbs, 15oz. Anyone aware of differences in the system year to year? This is odd :???:
  8. Klaus, the fan motor probably fried when the fan jammed. I know the fan on mine kicks on at around 215-220, which is way short of the red zone (250). So if your's isn't coming on when you're close to the red, the motor gets my vote. You could check this by applying 12v right to the motor, bypassing any switches that may be at fault. If the fan turns then it'll be time to start looking at sensors/switches, if it doesn't, replace the motor.

Totally agree, dealing with him when I bought the kit was a pleasure. I'm not trying to disparage him or 321ignition, just posting my experience with the product

Wait- the fluid in all the lines removed would add up as well- maybe a few more ounces. Still not gonna get you near that 6.5 lbs figure, but I hadn't considered it before. Shit, am I gonna have to figure the capacity of the removed lines and weight some brake fluid now?

Done. Everything I removed from the bike come to just under four pounds. That includes all lines, valves, secondary master cylinder and assorted brackets. So unless the de-link kit weighs negative 2.5 pounds, someone's fudged the numbers somewhere. I'm not saying 321 is full of "shite", but I don't make a habit of getting weight figures from manufacturers, they tend to be (as I said) a little optimistic. I'm just posting from my personal experience, not what from what I read on some website trying to sell me something. Losing three pounds off a four pound system by simply switching out the lines seems unlikely to me, but not having done it myself, I'll bow to your experience on that one. No, but I could probably pull off one or two pounds, which is all you're likely to see from de-linking   Edited for attitude

Yeah, velcro a garage door opener to your triple clamp, that's right up there with Warchild's mods in this thread, sure it is :poke:  PS- you said cockpit heh-heh.....

Hey, chuckles, aren't you supposed to be installing a garage door opener about now? Get on it, or I'm telling your wife

That's a bit optimistic, IMO. I've got all the crap I pulled off the bike when I de-linked in a hefty bag, and while I haven't weighed it, it certainly isn't six pounds, and you'd still have to subtract the weight of the new lines and the de-link bracket from that. I'd say the weight loss is pretty insignifigant when all is said and done. If this is something you're considering to save weight, don't bother, a healthy bowel movment would yeild better results   .

It looks to be sitting directly above his speedo. :???:
  17. Or buy a Chevy :poke: Sorry, couldn't resist
  18. Nope, it's pretty simple. Ten minute job if all goes smoothly. It'll come with instructions and everything you need, including a tool to pull out the right side bar weight.
  19. Relaxing, especially in your arms, would help more than anything. Can never hurt to ajust the freeplay out of the throttle, though.
  20. 150mph? Why, that's illegal! Shame on you........
  21. Coming from a guy who knows-
  22. Local theatre, actually, and yes, I do. PS- where the hell you been, anyway?
