  1. Keith, Did you ever figure out what the problem was? Mine is doing the same thing, but more noticeably when the bike temp is higher and I am traveling in traffic on the freeway. It seems to stutter a little then catch when I open the throttle. steve
  2. Thanks...looks like I will replace the seal....
  3. I bled my clutch line and put the clutch reservoir cap back on. When the handlebars are turned towards the left, there is clutch fluid leaking out of the seams. I tightened down the screws pretty tight on the reservoir but it's still leaking slightly. I filled the reservoir to the line inside. Any ideas? Thanks steve
  4. Pete, So have you had any probs with the bars coming loose? How tight did you tighten the top clamp? I was thinking of getting a sleeve like Northman said or extensions to fit over the fork tubes but not sure how hard that would be to make..
  5. I raised my Helibars and the top clamp bolt is above the fork tube. If it's above the fork tube about 1/2", but the lower clamp bolt is secure on the fork tube, would that be strong enough? I am going to try to post a pic, but I'm usually unlucky with this. If the pic doesn't show, here's the link...it's under Helibars http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dante18_98/my_photos

    Clutch

Thanks for the info...just finished. After I figured out how and where to connect the tubes, the job took probably 15 minutes...super easy! Thanks again. steve

    Clutch

When you got the Mightyvac, are the directions pretty easy?

    Clutch

It seems that the clutch is taking a little longer to engage when I let it out. Is there a way to adjust it? I put on helibars a while back and a little fluid came out when I loosened the banjo bolt but the clutch does not really feel like it is mushy or air is in the line. My bike is the '02. Thanks for any info... steve
  10. Thanks alot for the reply. kel, do you have a red bird? Saw one on the 101 near Johnson dr a few days ago....
  11. This is probably a stupid question, but is 5w-40 too thin of an oil? How will it handle heat in the engine? I know thicker oils help with engine heat.
  12. Anyone using this oil in their bike? Any good? A friend had some he didn't use and gave me it. Just curious how it handles in hot temperatures. steve
  13. Just did a one over on all the bolts on the bike...it seems like 80% of them weren't torqued to the recommended specs....another reason why I don't have alot of confidence w/ service depts...
  14. Well, the exhaust pipe joint nuts weren't to the specified torque of 14 lbf-ft. I tightened two of the pipes and will tighten the other two tomorrow, so that may have been the problem. Thanks for all the help... steve
  15. Thanks alot for all your help! I think you're right about the condensation...it doesn't fell like oil or liquid like that.... Thanks again!!! steve
