  1. depends....i just layed down my aprilia tuono, which comes with integral frame sliders, and they bent the steel bracket they were mounted to. this was a good thing, as the bracket was bolted to the engine mount bolts....better the bracket to give that the engine mount. on the other hand, frame sliders can mean the difference between cracking a 450 dollar fairing in a tipover, or minimal paint to no damage. it all depends on the situation you encounter. lowside on the pavement might be alright, but when that bike goes into the dirt and the frame slider digs in (like mine did) things might start bending and breaking
  2. I'm gonna buy a torque wrench too.....but why would a torque wrench help in loosening the nut??? NEVER break torque using a torque wrench. you will simply fuck its calibration all up. I think he means a torque wrench will help the next time you get it off, as you and make sure its not overtorqued when you put it back on.
  3. i would think it might keep the bird runnin a bit cooler, keeping a bit more exhaust heat out of the radiator.
  4. most torque wrenches only seem to be worth a shit in the middle 1/3 of their range, anyways. fer a draiin plug i just get it snug and give it a bit more, never had a problem.
  5. just make sure to be real careful about the height of the stack.....several people think you can jsut throw it in there and dont realize that you ought to be able to get an extra plate in there :???:
